Morning Motivation - 4/20/2021

Podcast Transcription

Welcome, gang, it's Matt.

I should say, welcome gentlemen, because every... every subscriber to this point, hopefully, no women subscribe between now and tomorrow morning.

But as of right now, every subscriber is a male. So I can say, morning, gents, and I'm shocked there's no women. I have like coached a lot of women and a ton of women listen to the goal achievement podcast. But no, no women have subscribed here.

So anyway, that was a total tangent.

Good morning.

I hope you're all doing really well, and thank you so much for being a subscriber. I really appreciate it. It's my intention to help you achieve your goals and your dreams with this content.

And as you know, I'm releasing new episodes for patreons every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And today is Tuesday, April 20th, 2021. It's day number one hundred and ten of the year. And we have two hundred and fifty-five days remaining, twenty-nine point eight six of the year complete and seventy point one four remains.

Man, that's still a lot of time. Still a lot of time to... To accomplish what you want for this year, to achieve your goals, to move closer towards reaching your dreams, and just a lot of time to execute and to take action each day and that accumulated action can really add up. Guys, I'm telling you, think about that.

Two hundred and fifty-five days remain, over 70 percent of the year remains. So just a remarkable opportunity for each of you left this year. Just really want to make sure we're capitalizing on it.

As far as yesterday go, how did your Monday go? How did you... how did you do? Did you crush it?

If you did, we want to take that momentum into today, we want to build momentum...

So much easier to… to keep the momentum going as opposed to starting from a stopped point.

I mentioned that... Ben sent me a note saying, man, he's really had a solid week last week and he was moving right through and trying to build that, keep that momentum going, and that's so much easier. I mean, if you've ever gone on vacation, like, shutdown work for a couple of weeks and then came back and try to work, I mean, you understand what I mean? It's like... takes it three or four days, like get back up and running. But when you're, like, absolutely crushing it, it seems like it's just a lot easier to keep that momentum going.

There's a funny saying, and if you think about this, like I know as a manager of people, like a lot of times, like if I had something that absolutely had to get done, like I very, very rarely gave it to someone who like didn't have much to do, I gave it to like the busiest person that actually accomplished a ton and if I had something that had to get done and like I couldn't do it and whatever, like if I had to hand it off, like, I... You know, I didn't really look for the person that, like, had the least to do and that we had like the most free schedule. Oftentimes I went to the person that was like the busiest and that I knew that, like, was constantly executing on stuff. Like they used the momentum of just like accomplishing a ton to just accomplish more.

And it's funny how that works, and we want to take that same principle. If you had a great day on Monday into Tuesday and we want to take that momentum from Tuesday into Wednesday and we just want to build on it and build on it and build on it and... and that's what we want to do.

So... So anyway, hopefully, you were able to identify what you wanted to accomplish with your time yesterday and you were able to do it, and hopefully, you were able to prioritize the tasks that actually moved your stuff forward, actually moved your projects forward. And if you did, if you were able to prioritize, did you knock them out? Did you have a great day? I hope so.

All right. So let's think about today. What do you need to focus on in order to get closer to reaching your goals today? I want you to think through it, think through what has to get done, not just surface-level thinking... Think deep, like what do you have to move the ball on? Who do you need to reach out to? Who... You know, if somebody heard from you, would that help push something along? Is there, you know, something that might even be a seemingly small task, but it needs some of your focus and energy... Energy today. Is there something that needs some deep thought and a lot of deep thinking?

Just take some time. Think through what needs to get accomplished today to move you closer to accomplishing your weekly targets and hopefully your annual goals. So let's take some time, get laser-focused, take some time to sit down and think about this. We want to move through the day with clarity, clarity, clarity, clarity that's going to solve so many problems around like procrastination and self-doubt and all that stuff that's a disaster for productivity.

So I mentioned yesterday that, you know, many of you listening to this, most of you listening to this, I shouldn't say most of you, each one of you, you're working on a lot of, like creative projects. There's authors here, there's course creators, entrepreneurs, executives within this group.

And if you recall yesterday, we talked about trusting your gut and not relying on anyone's approval in order for you to execute at your highest level possible. And we talked about not only not needing everyone's approval, but actually not needing anyone's approval in order for you to get laser-focused and for you to get dialed in on your targets and on your priorities for the day and to move closer to accomplishing your goals, you just don't need anyone's approval.

It's great. It's wonderful. It's freeing. It's a productivity hack.

So I want to take that step, I want to take that idea a step further today, I want you to not only continue to trust yourself and trust your gut and trust your intuition, I really want you to start trusting yourself that when you anticipate and you can kind of see ahead that there could be a challenge or an obstacle because something's complicated or it's overwhelming and it just feels like it's going to be a big deal, going to be a challenge.

I want to challenge you to adjust your immediate reaction and make your... your immediate reaction is kind of like no big deal, I'll figure it out. Like I want you to trust yourself to figure stuff out, because I know each one of you guys really well. You guys are all like genius men. And I mean, you really are.

So you guys... I mean, you guys are all very successful and you have a history of figuring stuff out. And I want you just to be aware of that so that you can rely on that as you are working on stuff I want you to rely on... When you think about something big, you know, I just want to challenge you to think, not overly think... About the tactics and execution right away. I want you to not think about the tactics and execution right away. I want you to think more about like, OK, this is the project. What actually has to happen now in order to knock this out and not become overwhelmed by the tactics and then that stop you from taking action and moving things forward?

Let me give an example of this, it was somebody in the mastermind who's there, who's in the mastermind, who is also one of the patreons here. So Ben is working on his book, and if you think about it, I've... I've worked with Ben throughout this process. I'm not quite sure how long we've worked together, but it's been a... it's been a while, and he's been working on this amazing book... Really, really, it's going to be tremendous, it's going to be amazing.

Well, if you think about it, like when Ben was already writing this book, when he came to me and he just did a fabulous job of just writing the damn book as opposed to a lot of authors, and I've worked with a lot of authors. They want to start doing like keyword research, they want to start deciding like the colors of their book cover, they want to start researching how to buy ads on Amazon or Facebook ads or whatever, as they're like writing the book. And then, you know, obviously they get overwhelmed and then they start to fill a lot of inertia and the whole book project starts to fill very weighty.

What Ben's done an amazing job of is he really wrote a... Just a... I mean, it's a, it's going to be a chunk of material, it's not a light book like mine, it's a real, real book. And he wrote the dang thing without getting all caught up in this other stuff, even that he knew it was going to be important, he didn't just bury his head in the sand and act like that was never going to be an issue. He's working on that stuff now, he's working on the book launch now, but... when he... You know, as he was writing this book, he wasn't getting like way into the weeds on the tactics of how to categorize your book most effectively, an Amazon or something, which is what a lot of people do.

So, you know, that's just a good example of like, you know, I don't know if he did this intentionally, but I do know, like, I would coach somebody this way, just, you know, kind of trust yourself to know that you'll be able to figure out that next step, you'll be able to figure out the how to categorize how to market, how to do the... what the best color will be on the cover, blah, blah, blah. Like you're going to be able to figure that stuff out.

But if you try to do it all just right out the gate, if you try to think through like what every single aspect to a successful book, to writing a book and launching a book and selling a book, that's going to feel overwhelming, I'm telling you.

So it's just great to be able to trust yourself on certain parts of it... And you say, okay, well, I'll tackle that when I get there, and I want you guys to all think about that as you're working on your projects, like what stuff can you just kind of check off in your brain, OK? You know, I know that's coming and I'm going to be able to approach them and be able to knock that out when the time comes. But I don't want to get overwhelmed in those details right now.

Yeah, just... This is something I work on a ton, too, so I'm definitely kind of preaching to myself here, but it's something that I've gotten a lot better at, where I'm just like, OK, I'm going to work towards this, I'm going to make some progress on it, I'm going to learn along the way, I'm actually going to try to get people to pay me along the way too. A lot of you guys have seen me try to do that with these different projects.

And so, yeah, try to figure it out along the way and just kind of trust yourself.

Trust yourself that you're going to be able to figure it out.

I just want you to really think through that a lot as you are having challenges and obstacles and those things are going to happen and you're going to have challenges, you're going to have obstacles, and I just want you to rely on yourself, I just want you to think and rely on yourself and understand that you are going to be able to figure it out if you give yourself the grace to… to do that.

So that's it.

I hope that was somewhat helpful. I felt like I was all over the place.

But anyway, let's do it. Let's make it a great day.

You know, you're not going to get the next 24 hours back, make a plan and make the most out of this time.

We have ten days left in the month, make a plan, make the most of that time.

You have seventy one days left in this quarter, make the most out of that, make a plan, let's do it.

Two hundred fifty five days left in the year, That's a lot of time guys...You can, we can accomplish a lot. Let's make a plan and make the most out of it.

If you need anything, let me know.

And if you are thinking big about a project, try not to get sucked way into the weeds, yet. Start working on some stuff and... and trust that you can figure out some of the later stages... Stage stuff down the road and... and that's it guys.

Hope everything's going well. If you guys need anything, let me know.

I cannot believe this was fourteen minutes long.

OK, bye bye.

Podcast Transcription

Morning, gang, it's Matt.

I hope you're all doing really well.

Thanks again for subscribing as a patreon. I really appreciate it, it's my intention to help you achieve your goals and your dreams with this content.

New audio is released to patrons every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and today's Monday, Monday, April 19th. So let's dig in... We're one hundred and nine days into 2021 and we have two hundred and fifty-six days remaining as of today. So we're about 30 percent through the year and we have just over 70 percent of the year remaining. So lots of time to still execute, guys.

Let's take some time to think about what you want to accomplish with your time and your... and your energy this week. What do you need to focus on in order to get closer to accomplishing your goals?

Let's really get laser-focused.

We do not want to meet and or through the day, we want to be laser-focused. We want to move through the day with focus and intention and intentional action. And I know many of you guys are working on creative projects. Ben is working on them on a book, Sergio is working on a course, Rob's got all kinds of entrepreneurial ideas and ventures he's working on, Kurt is high up in an organization that takes a lot of creative energy, creative thought to... To lead.

And I realize with those creative type of projects and just creative thinking all day long, a lot of self-doubt can creep in and I just want to challenge you to really trust yourself this week, you don't need everyone's approval for you to execute at your highest level throughout this week.

Trust your gut and execute on your work.

You know what needs to get done? Make a plan for yourself and let's execute.

Not only do you not need everyone's approval, actually, you don't need anyone else's approval, you don't need anyone's approval for you to get laser-focused on your targets, and to accomplish your goals, you need no one's approval to do that.

You can make a plan and you can execute it, let's do that.

Let's make a plan for your day and let's execute it. Let's make a plan for your week and let's execute it. And let's really try to remove self-doubt through your action. Does that make sense? I want you to remove self-doubt by taking action. And along the way, I want you to be positive to yourself.

You're going to be required at some point today or this week to create motivation for yourself, and you're going to do that by taking action. There's no other way to do it, you can either wait around and not do... do your stuff and not make progress and not move towards your goals, not move towards your dreams. Or you can draw a line in the sand and freakin just get started and let the motivation follow and just trust yourself that if you get started, the motivation will follow.

So I really want to challenge you this week to trust yourself and not wait to feel motivated to do something, determine your priorities, start taking action on them and trust that your motivation will follow after you get started.

Absolutely no excuses, Ben, you have a freakin book to launch, you are doing so good, man, I'm so proud of you. But this week is one of the most important weeks of your life as it pertains to your work, your writing, your legacy. So let's really get dialed in, let's approach each hour with intention and focus and... and really lean in, I know you're working your butt off, I know you've been crushing it for a while now. But it is time, it is time to continue. There's no letting up at this point where you've got a little work, you got a little work sprint you've been in and we've got to wrap that puppy up. So keep going, man, you're doing great.

Sergio... Dude, you're crushing it right now. Here's a challenge, though. I want you to spend zero time thinking about what anyone else thinks of your work, I want you to spend zero time even asking people what they think, I want you to get this course launch.

Trust yourself you know what's good and what's not.

Trust yourself and think about this, here's a challenge for you. You know how hard it is to create a course like you're doing, like building the material out and just having the guts to share it with the world. And, you know, that's hard, it's hard to do, it's hard to launch creative work. But excuse me, you know what else is hard? It's actually way harder to not create your course and not launch this course because it feels so weighty, like the weight of the world is on your shoulders, like you should be doing something and you're not.

I know you know that feeling.

We've never talked about this, but I can guarantee, you know, that feeling, especially because I know this is something you wanted to do for a long time and you've even done parts of it, but you've never launched it, there is so much weight on that like it feels like, you know, it's weighing you down.

And... And so I just want to challenge you, you know, and... And I want to challenge you to think through that, like, yeah, this is a lot of work, but you know what else is a lot of work not doing it and feeling that every day.

So, yeah, this is hard and it's difficult and it's going to be a challenge and you're going to continue to run into a challenge. But it's not any harder than not doing it, you know, I mean, I hope that resonates with you. It's certainly that's something that I've thought about a lot, is that you know, yes, some of the stuff I do is hard, but what's even harder is not doing it and just thinking about it like that feels real, it just weighs on me if I'm thinking about stuff and I'm not taking action on it, and I'm sure you're the same way, so I know it's hard, I know you're working hard, I know you're grinding and I know it's a challenge... but so is not doing it.

Not doing it's hard not doing it feels like crap not doing it, you know, fills yourself with self-doubt. Not doing it makes you feel bad at the end of the day, not doing it doesn't make you feel like you're succeeding. Not doing it doesn't set a good example for your daughter and your wife.

So you got to do it, man.

So keep at it. You're doing frickin awesome, too. I'm really proud of you, you're doing amazing.

Rob, I know you're working on a lot of things right now. I want to encourage you to take some time to think through your day and move through your day with a lot of clarity and purpose. Let's not wing it, let's find your focus, let's find your clarity, and let's execute. No doubt about it, no hesitation, let's rock and roll.

Kurt, let's make it a great week, let's find some time to take care of yourself, take care of your body. I know you're just grinding right now at work, I know you're just you've been swamped this year, this has been a crazy year for you. But I want to challenge you to find some sake or time for yourself, set it aside, and... And do some activities that you enjoy, do some activities that are healthy for you, do some activities that will make you feel like, you know, you're... You're moving forward to like you deserve to have some sacred time and to treat yourself well and to do some things that you enjoy. And I just challenge you to find the time to do that, make some time to exercise and to eat healthy foods and to drink plenty of water and all that good stuff. So just a challenge for you there.

That's it, guys.

Let's make it a great day. No excuses.

Let's take care of business, we have a job to do.

You... you know what? You will not get this time back, the twelve hours of your life, the next twelve hours that's about to occur from the moment you stop listening to this, you will not get that time back.

So make a plan and execute to get the most out of it.

And you won't get this week back, make a plan and make the... Make a plan and make the most out of it. You've got eleven days left this month, make a plan and make the most of that.

We have, what, 72 days left in Q2 make a plan and make the most out of the quarter that remains.

We have 256 days left in this year, make a plan and make the most out of it.

So let's go make a plan, make the decision that it's going to be a great day today, enter the day with a plan, and let's execute absolutely no excuses. You guys have a job to do and let's make it a great day.

Let me know if you need anything bye.

How To Not Take Your Today For Granted

Podcast Transcription

Hey, guys, wassup!

What's up, what's up, what's up?

Hope you're all doing really well.

On today's episode, we're going to talk about not taking today for granted.

Love it.

This is a patreon recording from last week, I think you guys know what those are by now. You should go subscribe and stop being a hater and frickin sign up so that you can receive recordings like this every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in your inbox. I promise you, it will make you more productive, guaranteed. And if not, man, I'll refund your money.

So that's it, go subscribe to Patreon if you're enjoying this content and that's it, here we go.

How to not take your day for granted.

The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the project's activities and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams, that is the question, and this podcast is the answer.

My name is Matt and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast, I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.

First off, thank you so much for your support of my Patreon page, it's my intention to challenge, motivate and inspire you each day to help you achieve your goals and dreams. Remember, as a supporter, you can comment on my patreon page, and I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas and any feedback you have.

I'm recording and distributing this content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So you should always receive a new post on those days, and it's Monday, so let's dig in.

If you remember last week, I challenged you to approach your morning and each day with a great attitude. And I want to challenge you to continue with that mindset into this week. Can you again determine before your day begins that today is going to be a great day? And I also want to challenge you to determine that before the week begins, before this week begins, determine this is going to be a great week.

And I know what you're thinking. You're like, Matt, we did this last week... We did it last week. But we're trying to reprogram, like the default brain, your brain mindset, the default mindset. You're going to... I mean, you're typically going to be in like a negative or a neutral state. And we are trying to proactively turn that into a positive mindset every single day, and that takes time.

I've been doing this for years and I still have to think through it every morning. I'm literally I'll be in, you know, brushing my teeth, I'm thinking through: Matt, today is going to be a great day. Let's make today a great day. I have to actually think through that every single day, and I've been doing this stuff for years.

So I just want to challenge you to do the same thing, take some time today and reflect and think through it and think through how you're going to make today a great day, think through that you're going to proactively make it a great day and just be aware of that.

Make today a great day.

Just kind of think through that, repeat it to yourself, and... And take some time to do that, just think I'm going to make today a great day, I'm going to make today a great day, I know that sounds corny, but man, that works.

I also want to challenge you today to not take today and this week for granted. I want to challenge you to capitalize on the opportunity that you have today and that you have this week. You have the opportunity to push your business forward, push your projects forward, grow key relationships in your life. You have the opportunity to exit today and to exit this week healthier than you entered it.

So ain't that amazing... An amazing mindset to be in, you have the opportunity to exit today and to exit this week healthier than you enter it, it's amazing.

So how do you do that? How do you… How do you move forward? How do you grow your business, grow your relationships, improve your health before the day and before the weekends?

And I've got amazing news for you, it's not rocket science.

Sit down, make a decision about what's getting your focus today and this week and what you're going to execute on, and it's as simple as thinking through those things.

What needs to happen this week to drive your... your business and your projects forward? What has to happen this week? What do you need to accomplish? What do you need to accomplish this week to drive some key relationships forward? What has to happen? What can you do to drive those relationships forward? What needs to happen this week to drive your health forward? What can you do this week? What can you do today to drive your health forward so that you leave this week? You exit this week healthier than you started it?

I'm telling you, that's the easiest way, it's not rocket science. Get laser-focus happen to your day, proactively happen to these things versus being reactive throughout the day or just meandering throughout the day.

Let's get laser-focused, you know, and if you're listening to this and you have... You have the opportunity today to decide, I'm going to get laser-focused. This is what I'm going to work... Work on, this one I'm going to execute on, and I'm going to do this stuff at the highest level possible, and I'm going to move these areas of my life for today.

And I'm telling you guys, you know, I'm begging you to not take today for granted and to execute. Knock your stuff out, take care of your business, take care of your relationships, take care of your health, because man...

Regret is the worst…

Don't freakin get to the end of the day and be pissed that you didn't take advantage of your time. Don't get to the end of this week and be pissed that you didn't execute on your stuff when there's it's as simple as getting clear on sitting down, getting started, and taking action.

That's it.

It's... it's way, way, way, way easier than we make it, man.

Sit down, get focused, get laser-focused, and... And start executing start taking... taking a step towards... Move... We all had one of those weeks where we regret it, where you're like man what the hell did I do this week.

We've all been there man.

I've been there a million times, it's literally... Literally, what like got me on this, on this I don't know path to being a fanatic about prioritization and being clear and having like laser focus heading into the day. Because I've been... I literally get more done and, you know, a week now than I used to and... and a quarter.

So that's it, laser-focus.

Don't regret it and don't regret... Don't have regrets at the end of this week. Move your stuff forward, what has to happen today to move and to drive your projects and your business forward, what has to happen today to drive some key relationships forward, make those touches, do those things. What has to happen to drive your help for today?

Do it! What... Maybe it's scheduling a doctor's appointment, maybe it's taking a walk, maybe it's taking a run, maybe it's lifting some weights... I don't know... I don't know.

You got to figure that out.

Get clear, sit down, get clear, execute.

Let's go, make it a great day.

Don't regret not executing today, execute... execute your butt off this week.

And that's it guys with chat tomorrow, bye.

The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the project's activities and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams?

That is the question, and this podcast is the answer. My name is Matt East and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast, I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.

Hey guys, welcome in it's Matt.

First off, thank you so much for your support of my patreon page. I really appreciate it, it's my intention to challenge, motivate and inspire you each day to help you achieve your goals and dreams. Remember, as a supporter, you can comment on my page, and I would love to hear your thoughts and any ideas you have. I'm releasing new content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So you should always receive a new post on those days.

So since it's Wednesday, let's dig in, so it's April 14th, 2021 as I release this. We're a hundred and four days into the year, we've got two hundred and sixty-one days remaining. This is week number fifteen or twenty-eight point two two percent through the year, which means we have seventy-one point seven eight percent of the year remaining as of today.

I'm going to read those stats more frequently on this podcast because I find those powerful. It's really helpful to know where you stand in the year, in the month. And I... I referenced that frequently and I've... I've always done that, and I feel like it really helps me. It's just very powerful to know, OK, we're 28 percent through the year. We've got a little over 71 percent to go. Here's where we're at, you know, just really helpful to take stock and... And where you're at and what... What we have left and I know a lot of you guys have really great, big, tremendous goals that you're trying to reach and you're working on big projects are launching big projects. You're launching very aspirational stuff. And it's good to know where you stand. So I'm going to start keeping you in the loop on that, I'm going to add that as a daily feature.

So here we go.

Let's go.

And I should say, let's really, really... I'm reading those off because I want you to capitalize on the time that remains, not make you feel bad about how far we are through the year, although that's a good thing to know.

But I really want you to capitalize on the time that remains.

You know exactly what needs to be done in order to accomplish your goals for the year and in order to do that, you know, this... Review your goals every day and back into your targets for what needs to be accomplished for this month, for this week, for today, and then take some time to prioritize and block time to complete what needs to be accomplished today in order to hit your goals for the year.

And... And you know this as well as anyone. But that's going to help you move through your day with... With laser-focus and... And the proper intention, and that's going to help you. That's going to get you to achieve your goals better than anything else, and there's no doubt about it. It is having that intention, knowing where you're going, and being clear about what you want to accomplish and what you want to achieve each day.

So, all right, let's get into it.

So I've been thinking a lot about some of the traits of people I really admire. And I've realized one of those things is that people who I admire are very adaptable to change and have the ability to change their mind.

They aren't stuck in their thinking, they are constantly evolving.

And they're looking, you know, they're just looking out... Out of the windshield versus out of the back window, they are always looking forward. They're looking to, I don't know, just evolve into... They're not stuck in their ways, they have the ability to change their mind about stuff.

And I just want to challenge you today to think through a concept or an idea that is holding you back, but it would be beneficial for you if you just changed your mind and changed your perspective on it. And, you know, it can literally happen like that, like you can just change your mind about something, you can change your mind about a long-held belief and it can be extremely beneficial.

So I just want to challenge you to do some critical thinking about some of your long-held beliefs that may not be accurate and see if... See if it's a challenge for you to question yourself if it makes sense to change your mind about it, let me give you a couple examples so it makes sense, and so that you have a better feel for what I'm talking about.

I have two examples here. First example is I thought, you know, growing up, my parents watch the news like they watch the news. They woke up that watching the news, the news was on in the evening, it was like a thing to do, I guess. So I grew up with the belief paying attention to the news is helpful because it keeps you informed and that's what responsible people do.

I've totally changed my mind on that, I think the news is toxic largely. And, you know, very driven towards middle-class mindset and very negative in a lot of ways, and in no way do you get done watching a full news episode and ever think that you want to go out and crush it in the world and do something remarkable.

I just changed my mind like 15 years ago. I'm just not watching the news anymore and I've never felt like I was out of the loop, I talk to friends all the time, I ask them, hey is there anything going on I should know about? I get their perspective on, you know, presidential candidates on other stuff, I feel as informed as ever, and I watch and consume virtually zero news. And I just...

That's just that was a belief that was wrong, I felt like I needed to be watching the news to stay informed completely, completely wrong. I didn't I don't need that, it wasn't serving me in any well... in any way. So I had to challenge my conventional thinking and I had to change my mind.

Ok, I'm no longer watching the news, it's done. But that's been an amazing thing, by the way.

And the number two, another example, this is a much more recent example. And that is that problems should be avoided in your life and that problems are a bad thing, and this is something that Grant Cardone really talks about and I learned from, but problems man, problems are not... should not be avoided.

A lot of times problems are great, problems can be tremendous. And... and, you know, seldom is a problem, an indicator that you're doing something bad or wrong. A lot of times problems are opportunities and they're showing that, they're showing you that there's growth happening and there's good stuff happening.

No doubt about it... 100 percent, 100 percent.

An example was let me give you an example. So like in my head. Here's just a reframing in my head, you know, I do the mastermind, a few of you guys are mastermind members. You know, what's the right size for a mastermind, is that five people, is it 10 people, is it 90 people, is it 900 people, is it 9000 people like I don't know the answer to that, but...

I, in continuing to grow this mastermind, a few people have mentioned to me, like a lot of people mentioned to me, like well, when will you stop? How big can it get? Blah, blah, blah. And I don't know, I don't know the answer to that. That's a problem that I want to go discover. I want to discover the problem of, OK, this thing's getting too big. I need either one, stop advertise... stop advertising for it, or I need to, you know, break it off and have two groups or whatever.

That's a problem I want to face, I want there to be too many mastermind members. I want to have that problem, I need that problem in my life. I want there to be so many members that I don't know what to do with. I want to be onboarding enough customers each day that it's creating problems for me.

I, I don't want there to be you know, it's easy to onboard one person a day or, you know, or three a week or something. I want to be bringing on enough people that it's creating problems for me, it's like creating problems for the group. Like I want other members to be like, man there's too many there. What's going on here? Like, it's almost too much like I need that problem. That's a good problem to have.

What's a bad problem is having three people in your mastermind and it's the same three people saying the same three things and... and nobody's growing and evolving. And those new members bring in fresh blood and fresh ideas and, you know, challenge concepts, and it's great.

So that's an example where, like in my mind, I would have maybe not have even started like a mastermind, say, five years ago, because my mind, when I've been I would have been like, well, how big should it be? You know, just a lot of stuff, just a lot of self-limiting beliefs. And I've really changed my mind on that, it's like I want those problems. I would love to have too many people in the mastermind and I have to figure out what's going on.

That's it.

That's... that's a couple examples, so I just want to challenge you. You know, I had to change my mind about those things in order to live a better life, is there a concept or a belief that you have had for a long time that you need to change your mind on that would drive some transformational change for you?

Is there just something in your life that you can flip the switch on and like, OK, I used to think problems were a bad thing. I'm now embracing them, I want some problems or... You know, I've watched the news. I realize it doesn't serve me at all. I basically makes... it's toxic, it makes me feel like crap, I'm going... I'm done watching it.

Is there something like that? I mean, I'm definitely not suggesting you embrace my two ideas. I'm saying you go out, figure out what you hold close and... and challenge yourself on rethinking it and thinking if... if you would be better served if you thought a different way if you can change your mind about it. And I would challenge you if you're willing to... to change your mind, boom, just do it.

It doesn't have to be a year-long process, it doesn't have to be a decade-long process. You can just change your mind overnight and I would recommend you do that.

So take some time to think through what needs to what do you do to change your mind about how... how would that... how would changing your mind drive forward on something? Think business-wise, think hope-wise, think project-wise, what is a limiting belief that you need to just destroy and it just be done? I'd recommend you do that. It can be absolutely transformational for you.

That's it, guys.

I hope you... I hope you take some time and do this exercise and think through it there. I guarantee you there's something in your life that you can change your mind about. I'm trying to change my mind about stuff all the time, I'm working on stuff right now, I'm trying to change my mind on and I would encourage you to do the same.

You can just do it.

You don't need anybody's permission, you don't need to consult your dad about it, you don't need to consult your mom, you don't need to consult a friend. You can just change your freakin mind about something, and I'd recommend you do it.

That's it, have a great day, and if you need anything, let me know... bye-bye.

How To Stop Procrastinating

Podcast Transcription

Hey, guys, it's Matt.

Hope you're all doing really well, if you procrastinate this episode is for you.

We're going to talk about why people procrastinate and we're going to talk about some solutions that you can implement to end procrastination. So if you procrastinate, stick around you're going to love today's episode.

Today is another episode where I am sharing a patreon recording. So every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning, I'm posting new audio clips that are motivational and inspirational and designed to help you, too, to reach your goals and achieve your dreams. And this is one of those recordings.

Here we go.

The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the project's activities and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams?

That is the question, and this podcast is the answer. My name is Matt East and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast. I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.

Hey, guys, it's Matt. Hope you're all doing really well, today is April 15th, 2021. It's a Thursday or one hundred and five days into the year, we've got two hundred and sixty remaining. So we're at twenty-eight point four nine percent in the year with a touch over seventy-one percent remaining.

First off, thank you so much for supporting my patreon page, I really appreciate it. It's my intention to challenge, motivate and inspire you each day to help you achieve your goals and dreams. I'm releasing this content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So you should receive a new post on those days. They should just be emailed to you so you don't have to hunt them down. If they're going to your spam folder, move them into your regular stuff, into your regular folder, or your primary folder.

Remember, as a supporter, you can always comment or you can send me a direct message within Patreon. So I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas, and if you have questions, you can let me know, and that's exactly what one of you did, so thank you very much. I have my first question to answer.

Here it is.

They say, Matt, even that I'm doing much better now than ever before I'm still procrastinating occasionally, I'm trying to figure out why, I want to get to the root cause. When we spoke, we chatted about procrastination and your ideas helped a lot. Can you re-share some of that info so I can reference it when I need? It's a great question.

So first, let's just define procrastination.

It's the action of delaying or postponing something.

And something people don't realize is that procrastination is almost never a basically never, let's just say never. Procrastination is never a time management issue, and I'm going to tell you what it typically is. It's..there's usually four root causes behind it that I've witnessed, that I've seen through work and one on one with people or just working with people, I shouldn't say one on one, just in general, working with people, even like mastermind members.

So here are the reasons:

Reason One is that there's an emotional concern you're having and that's driving the procrastination, that's the root cause.

An example of this would be like if you're... What would be a good example... If you're, like wanting to be a YouTube star, so you want to start producing YouTube videos and maybe not a star, you just want to start producing YouTube videos and get a little following. So you want to do that, but for some reason, you can't even, like sit down and do your first video. Like, you literally can't sit down and turn on the camera and do the video, but you want to be a YouTube sensation.

Well, that's going to be a problem.

The reason you're having that problem is that you're worried about how others are going to perceive you, and that can often be, I shouldn't say that's the only reason, but that can be a key reason you're worried about the perception of the work that you're putting out there.

Another example of this would be that you just strive for perfection. So that would be another emotional concern, an emotionally tied concern is that you're striving for perfection and you're just anxious about perfecting whatever you're doing and it's keeping you from even getting started, and that's that's a huge thing.

To solve this you usually just take some baby steps, and through mastery of activity, you know, if you're trying to do a YouTube video, meaning you just got to sit down, you got to practice, you got to actually ship your work so that you can get feedback and get better. But usually mastery of activity practice is going to be the number one thing that can help solve this.

Reason Number Two is, it's just something you don't feel like doing.

Hey, that's a real thing, right? I mean heck I've dealt with that, I deal with that all the time. It's you just don't feel like doing something in order to solve that is you have to tie that action to a clear goal and a clear outcome. And... and you kind of want it to be tied to a... you want it to be tied to a bigger goal too,  something that's like you're aspiring towards.

So let's say you need to make 25 sales calls, nobody wants to make 25 sales calls. So it's time to make 25 sales calls, you have to tie that to a non-abstract goal instead of saying, like, I have to make twenty-five sales calls so I can make some money, that's not a good goal.

Make some money is not a good goal, it should be very clear.

So maybe your goal is to make 25 sales calls so you can transition two of those into a demo stage or to a discovery call and you have your math figured out that if you do 25 discovery calls, you're going to back into a certain... Not 25 discovery calls, if you're going to do a certain number of discovery calls, you can back into the math and know you're going to hit your financial goals.

Like maybe you want to get into like six figures or seven figures if you know why you have to make those calls, and you know what the goal of those calls is, you know, to transition people into a demo or discovery session and then, you know that you're going to be able to close a certain number of those discovery calls, and that's going to back into your big financial goal.

That's what you're looking for, and that takes some of the weight off of those calls. You're not just making the calls to make a little extra money or not just making the calls for the sake of making calls, you're completely tying those... the action of those calls into larger goals. And that's what we want to do to try to minimize procrastination.

Reason Number Three, you lack clarity.

This is monstrous, this is huge, I see this every single day with clients. So the lack of clarity about exactly what needs to happen is a huge reason people procrastinate. You know, you just... you just don't know the first step that you need to take you...

An example of this would be like you want to start a business. Well, where do you start? You have to have that clarity. Clarity is absolutely required to minimize procrastination, there's no doubt about it. This is a huge one, you're you know I think every member here or every patreon does their top three with me. Your top three should absolutely help with this, having clarity about what you actually want to do is a... Is I don't know, it's a huge benefit to ending procrastination.

So you'll see people when they join the mastermind, a lot of people say they want to end procrastination. And you'll see, I don't really like take that head-on initially I just say, hey send me your top three, because ninety-nine percent of the time we're going to make some serious progress on their procrastination if they actually do their top three and execute every day, and... and... so doing your top three and executing on them is a huge move forward in ending procrastination.

Reason Number Four. You’re overly optimistic about what you can accomplish in the future.

Yeah, you're overly optimistic, yeah. So you're putting yourself at a disadvantage by thinking you're going to be able to knock something out in the future quicker than you are, and you're almost always wrong. I mean, virtually every single time you think this, that you're going to be able to knock something out quickly in the future so you don't need to do it now, you're wrong.

Tasks will almost always take longer to complete successfully than you anticipate. So, you know the strategy here is to not put yourself in that situation, get started, take action, and start to realize like you're putting yourself on a major disadvantage with this thinking. It's false, thinking it's wrong, and you need to be doing the exact opposite, you need to get started right away so that you have plenty of time to wrap up the project in a way that you're proud of.

So let's talk through some actionable things you can do five things, you can act like actionable things you can do to end procrastination.

One is I mentioned this prioritizing your time to... And just finding laser-focus each morning, that is the number one thing that will help you a ton.

Number Two is, I freaking love focusmate and recommend focusmate sessions to virtually anybody that will listen, it's a great way to do deep work if you're working on your computer and you have something to knock out. Focusmate, 100 percent their 50-minute sessions, they're free, at least a handful are free a month. It's totally worth doing, if you struggle with procrastination, try focusmate. I'm not even going to describe what it is here, there's entire podcast episodes about that, and... and you can just Google or focusmate, but it works it's awesome. I don't know one person that's ever tried it that was like I was terrible, so try it.

Three is just getting an accountability partner, you know, not even hire a coach. Just go find a friend and have them act as an accountability partner. That's a great, great plan, great idea.

Number Four is do exactly what we talked about yesterday, which is getting started on the activity and letting motivation follow as opposed to waiting around for motivation to strike. So you don't want to wait around, you want to get started, let motivation fall.

And Five, this one feels weird it's the truth, this thing works... I've used this on so many clients. If you've... If you're a... someone who has procrastinated, like chronically throughout your... your life and it's like weighing on you now and you feel like you could be so much further along if you didn't procrastinate, forgive yourself. Take some time, like one minute, two minutes, and do it quickly, don't procrastinate on this. Like pause this right now if you need to and just forgive yourself for past procrastination and just start fresh, start fresh today.

Just forgive yourself and start with a fresh start with... a fresh like today... that is from psychologists recommend that and man it works. That works because so much of procrastination is so much tied to emotion, and I've seen tremendous results with that.

And lastly, this is your bonus, I already gave you five... Stop making freakin excuses... Like I need to be in the mood, I need the right work environment, I need to be under pressure, I'm waiting on someone else to do something so I can take action. Like stop it, get real, dig into your work, let's execute, let's go stop the B.S. Be honest with yourself. If anything, you owe it to yourself, to be honest. Stop the B.S. and... and stop the excuse-making.

Let's go, man go make it happen.

Absolutely go make it happen. Stop the B.S. excuses and let's go. There's no reason why you can't. If there's something you want to do, there's no reason you can't just start it, take action, and move forward on it. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but I am saying stop making excuses that it's impossible if one other person's ever done it. The chances that you're able to do it are... are high, that they figured out you're going to be able to figure it out if you put enough effort and energy into it and don't wait for the last minute to get going.

So you don't need to be in the mood, you don't need the right work environment, you don't need to be under pressure to execute, you don't need to wait on others. Let's go and that's it.

Be honest with yourself, stop the excuse-making, and let's go execute.

If you want to take action on something, go do it. Go get started and the motivation and inspiration will follow.

Let's go, guys. Let's make it a great day. If you need anything, let me know. And I hope you guys are all doing really well let's wrap the week up strong bye.

Why You Need To Embrace More Rejection

Podcast Transcription

Hey, guys, it's Matt.

All right, guys, first off, thank you so much for the support of my patreon page. It's my intention to challenge you, to inspire you, and just to help you achieve your goals and dreams. And if there is something that I can help you with, let me know. Remember, as a supporter, you can comment on my patreon page, and I would love to hear your thoughts and your feedback.

Also, if you want me to cover a specific topic, just let me know. I will record something on the topic you suggest 100 percent, just let me know what you want. Let me know what you're looking for and we'll get that done.

Also, I am recording and distributing content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so you should always receive a post on those days, and since today's Wednesday, let's get right into it.

So on Monday’s post, we talked about your ability to determine your mindset heading into the day. I challenge you to make a plan for your day before it begins because I really want you to be intentional with how you are spending your time and energy each day, and we do not we do not want to meander through the day, we want to spend it proactively, we want to spend it with intention, we don't want to spend it reacting to other people's agenda all day long.

So I want you to bring your own agenda into the day.

We talked about eliminating negative sources of information and content from your... from your mind. I challenged you to remove gossip, news, and other negative content from your life, and I discussed just the power of taking care of your body, drinking plenty of water, eating healthy foods, moving, and exercising.

And so... That was day One did you adopt that? Did you adopt that mindset? Have you determined for yourself that today is going to be a great day as you're heading into the day? We also talked for a long time about the path and the math to getting to 100k of monthly income. Did you dream about that a little bit? I hope so.

And then on Tuesday, we talked about taking ownership. So taking ownership of the results that you are creating in your life over... over the last twenty-four hours, have you identified the areas that you can take a greater level of ownership... on ownership in? Can you...can you up your game in a particular area? Can you improve?

You know, I'm constantly trying to improve and iterate and one area where I have historically been really weak and I've had to work hard to improve and be intentional about it is how I respond to rejection. So I've spent a lot of time and energy on reframing this and... and how I view it, how I view rejection in… in… in general.

So when I was coming out of college, I didn't want to be rejected, man I was scared of rejection. I think that's pretty normal, I think most people are that way, but I was definitely that way. But through some experiences and by studying high performers, I've been you know, I've just learned I've learned that rejection is part of the process to doing something that you really want to achieve your goals to yeah, just living a better life, living a more fulfilling life, living a more successful life.

So, so much so that now, you know, I view rejection undoubtedly as a signal to success. I want to be rejected, I am looking for rejection more often. So with what I do, my income level is a hundred percent correlated with the amount of rejection in my life. The more I'm being rejected, the higher my income goes, and I'll explain that in a second. But I want to get rejected, I need... I need to get rejected more each day, I need it.

And I believe the same is true for you. And I'm going to make a case for that. And I'll definitely explain it in greater detail. But first, let's just think through some of the master, some of the... some of the classic stories we've heard about rejection and some of the... the real masters of our time.

So Michael Jordan, you know, MJ was cut from his high school team. How crazy is that? It's just insane to me. But the dude could easily like threw in the towel, he didn't man... he stepped up.

Steve Jobs was fired, I mean the dude was fired by Apple. Of course, he was eventually brought back, but Steve Jobs was fired, it's crazy.

Jeff Bezos, Jeff, really struggled with seeding, with getting seed money for Amazon, like big time, nobody was a significant, like funder in the early days... mistake to those people, you know, he had to really, I've heard, I've listened to it quite a bit, but he had to gain money like 25K at a time, 50K at time. He never had like a initially like a huge, huge investor.

J.K. Rowling, she was rejected numerous times by publishers. I mean, that's famous. All these are... are very well-known, but they're all forms of rejection man. MJ was rejected by his coach, by his team in some way. Steve Jobs was rejected by I assume that's the board of directors. Jeff Bezos was rejected by investors and he was rejected by a lot of investors, gave them nothing. And J.K. Rowling was invested by a potential publisher.

So I mentioned that earlier I believe your rate of success will be directly correlated to the amount of rejection you're willing to face, and let me give you some personal examples of that just so we can try to make sense of it. So I was a part of a software startup that sold to Fortune 100 companies, Fortune 100 Fortune... I shouldn't say 100... Fortune 500, a little bit of fortune like 1000. And the first...

The first role I had in that company was to generate new business, we needed customers, we needed revenue. And in order to do that, it was my role in the company to try to make some of that happen. So I had to make cold calls you know, we were an unknown company, I had to go out and try to generate data, generate that interest, and we did that through... through cold calls.

And I had to call into these massive companies and find a decision-maker and try to convince them to jump in and join me on a demo later in the week so that we could sell more software so that we could make some money so that we could stay in business. And I was good at this, but you have to keep in mind, like 85 percent of the time I was leaving a voicemail, you know some of the other times people just wouldn't commit. So I'd get them on the call and I couldn't get them to commit to the demo.

Other times people would just hang up on me, I mean if you've ever made cold calls, people hang up. Sometimes the gatekeeper at these large companies just wouldn't... wouldn't let you through, go try to call into Proctor and Gamble and see what happens, but what I realized very quickly was that regardless of all that rejection for about every 50 dials I made, I would set a demo, which was the goal.

So I just started to realize that the math like always worked out. I mean, it was just remarkable, if I made the calls, I was able to set a demo, if I made the 50 dials, I would get a demo. Just the math became very, very easy to back into. So you can see I needed to fail 49 times in order to find that success, I needed to fail like, I had to go out and... and find 49 rejections in order to get to that one success.

If I wanted to set a demo, you know, I just had to dial the phone 50 times, it was basically as simple as that. And if I wanted to set four demos, I needed to make 200 calls, you know, and I could back in the math that way. And the math just always played out, but I needed to be rejected, I needed the 49 rejections to get to the one success and... and the math virtually always worked out. I almost never made 50 calls where I didn't end up getting someone into a demo.

Let me give you another example like in my current life.

So my primary website averages about 50, maybe a little more than that, but about 50 natural site visitors a day. So like Google just sends me 50 visitors basically, and then I get 50 paid visitors from various sources, google, and other avenues. So that's about a hundred total, and out of those hundred, five or six of those will join my email list. So five or six that's really common percentage, it's not great, it's not terrible, five or six join my email list today, one of those will buy something from me. So out of those hundred people every single day, one of those people buy something from me, they give me their credit card, they become a customer,  we exchange some goods.

And... and of course, I want to increase my conversion rate, I'm constantly trying to improve my conversion rate. I work really hard at that, and... and... but what I really need, what I really need to move the needle is I need to fail more, you know, does that makes sense? I need more visitors than the hundred. If you think about it, if for every hundred visitors, six of those are, you know, doing something I want... say, you know, join in my email list or becoming a customer, you know, my quickest way to success is more traffic is getting way, more traffic.

I mean, more visitors to my site, I mean more rejection. If I had a thousand visitors a day to my site and kept the same conversion, which I would, you know, 94 percent of those people, 940 would be rejecting my offer. But if six of those were converting, you know, that's 6 percent of those were converting that be 60 people a day, that adds up. I mean it's... that's amazing, but I need that, I need that...I need that rejection.

You see, I need to be rejected more often, I need rejection. There are 7 billion people on the earth, if I could get rejected by 6.9 Billion people, man, I would be so wealthy, like, be crazy. My business would be crazy-successful if I can get 6.9 Billion people to reject me because the math works out, the math absolutely works out, makes sense.

Does that make sense I should ask, does that make sense? It sounds crazy, but... but I need to multiply my rate of rejection to succeed at a higher level. I want to be rejected more, I need to be rejected more. And same thing for your business, I can almost guarantee you that if you increase your rate of rejection, your level of success is going to skyrocket it's going to go up not down.

And that's just the opposite that most people think you... this mindset really like reframed everything for me. Not only did I... I'm... I'm kind of a people pleaser, I like to make people happy, I want to deliver for people. So even when I'm looking at website numbers, it's discouraging when I see, like, somebody lands on my site and then bounces right away, that's not good.

So... so I had to really reframe that, I now view that as a rejection and I had to reframe what that looks like and just really figure out in my mindset. Man, this is actually it's all good, it's just like the good old days making...making cold calls and the higher rate of rejection than I can... that I can experience every day, the more success that I'm going to be able to experience.

So just means, you know, facing that rejection each day just means, you know, you're taking chances, you're getting out of your comfort zone, you're doing stuff, you know, and if you think I'm crazy, think about this. So think about... think about someone... If you're like Matt you are freaking nuts, which would be totally reasonable.

But if you believe I'm crazy, think about this, think about someone who wakes up in the morning and watches TV all day long, zero rejection man, they just woke up, they watched TV, life is whatever it is good I guess for them, they're watching TV, they're not doing anything. So they definitely weren't rejected, they faced zero rejection, zero rejection. So was that a successful day if you faced zero rejection without a successful day? Of course not, that's not a great day.

You know...you know, so we know that experiencing zero rejection does not equal success. You know that. I mean, you just by that example, you know that.

So I just want to challenge you to reframe how you think about rejection and consider the level of rejection you're willing to face. Are you willing to up your rejection game for the...for the long game? You know, for the...for the greater good? I can guarantee you, if you multiply the amount of rejection you're facing each day, it will coordinate with greater success for you.

So I just want to reiterate, don't fear rejection, embrace it, seek it.

It's really a sign that you're on the correct path, man. People doing stuff have problems, they have challenges. If you're facing challenges and you're facing problems, it means you're on the right path man, 100 percent, you want problems.

You want problems.

You know, I guarantee you, those people we mentioned earlier, MJ and J.K. Rowling and...and Bezos, like you think Jeff Bezos doesn't have problems. I mean, come on. So if you're doing stuff, you're going to have problems and you want problems, don't...don't be afraid of problems and may have to reframe how you think about them, but you don't want a life free of problems.

That is not the goal.

So also, you know, this mindset of... of being more open-minded to criticism and... and rejection, goes way beyond business. Think about it with relationship, so that's it, I got to get moving...this was well, it's 15 minutes insane and I just get down on these and I can't stop.

So that's it guys, go multiply your love of rejection, I promise it'll help. I... I wish... I wish somebody told me this like 20 years ago, I'd been so helpful like I've been... it would have been just massively helpful.

So anyway, go, go, go multiply your rejection and your level of rejection and I guarantee you will multiply your level of success and that's it, and Patreon listeners, let me know what you think of this post, I hope you love it, and that's it.

Go, go embrace rejection.

You need it in your life, you need problems, you need challenges. Go run and do some stuff, go... go make a ruckus, go make it happen and make it a great day.

Go to Patreon type in Matt East as the creator and boom, you're all set at seven dollars and nine ninety-nine cents a month. What a frickin good deal is that, it's incredible, and that's it. Let's do it, let's get into the episode, let's talk about taking ownership of your life, let's do it.

The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the project's activities and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams?

That is the question. And this podcast is the answer. My name is Matt East and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast. I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.

Hey, guys, first off, thank you so much for supporting my Patreons page. It's my intention to challenge you, motivate and inspire you each day, and to help you achieve your goals and dreams. Remember, as a patron supporter, you can comment on my Patreon page, and if you want me to cover a specific topic, just let me know on there, and I will 100 percent, no doubt about it, record something on the topic you want to hear about. As a reminder, I record and distribute this content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

So let's dig in, it's Tuesday, let's do it.

So first off, did you make yesterday a great day after listening to your audio clip for yesterday? Did you plan for how you were going to spend your time and energy? Did you... were you intentional and were you thoughtful about the information that you allowed into your brain? Did you protect your mind from gossip, news, and other B.S.? I hope you did.

Did you make the decision before the day began to just make it a great day? Did you just make that decision as I had challenge you to do? I hope so. I had an absolutely wonderful day yesterday. And, you know, there was there was zero luck involved with it. I decided to make it a great day, I determined it was going to be a great day, and then I made it a great day, I moved through it with a great attitude.

And if you had a great day yesterday, do you think it was luck, do you think that was luck or was it the result of deciding it was going to be a great day and then making it happen and backing that up with a great attitude and backing it up with a plan of attack and treating your body well?

You know, I run into multiple obstacles every day and I ran into multiple obstacles yesterday, I had challenges yesterday, I faced rejection yesterday. But when a challenge arises, you know, I face it and I move on. And when you face something difficult, it doesn't mean your day has to turn to crap, you deal with it and you deal with it head on, you learn from it and you keep moving on through your day, it doesn't ruin your day.

You continue to make it a great day, you continue to have a great attitude, you continue to execute on the plan that you had laid out for yourself.

And this is so important because if you're doing stuff at a level that's going to make a massive impact on your life, I can promise you you're 100 percent going to increase the challenges and obstacles that you face every day. If you're out there doing stuff, you're going to run into issues, you're going to run into challenges, you're going to run into haters even, you know, it's a sign you're doing something correctly.

Grant Cardone, someone whose mindset I admire greatly, says stuff does not happen to you, it's happening because of you. That's so good. Listen to that:.

"Stuff does not happen to you, it's happening because of you".

That's the secret sauce right there, that is the secret to a great life when you start taking complete ownership of absolutely everything in your life, good and bad and just realize it's all a result of you and your actions and your situation right now, your life, your day to day activities that you do, your income level, your mindset, everything in your life it's because of you

Stuff doesn't happen to you, it's happening because of you. Stuff does not happen to you, it's happening because of you. That's literally the best news I can deliver because it means that you are in charge of your life, it means you're in control, if something's not where it needs to be in your life, you have the control to change it. Stuff does not happen to you, it's happening because of you.

So I want to challenge you today to think through this. Are there areas of your life that need to change? Where are there things in your life where you can take greater ownership? Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to take greater ownership? Are you willing to realize that everything in your life is happening because of you and not to you? Are you... are you... are you able to accept that? Are you willing to dig in and make the proper adjustments each day to own the outcomes that you're creating?

I hope you have the guts to do that, it'll be transformational.

Your success from this moment forward in your life is 100 percent and it's always been, but moving forward, it's 100 percent directly tied to the level of ownership you're willing to take in in the work and the relationships and your health and fitness. Everything, everything in your life is a result of you, it's not happening to you, it's happening because of you.

And, you know, you're not a victim. You are creating the results in your life, and that's great news, it means you can control it means you can have an impact, you can... you can influence it to a huge degree, it's 100 percent up to you.

So as we head into today, let's make it another great day, and let's head into it understanding this message this most it's... this incredible news that being... being responsible and taking ownership and creating the results in your life is what we want... That's what we want to focus on today.

Determine right now that you're going to make today a great day.

You're going to move through it with a remarkable attitude, you're going to own the results you're creating in your life, you're going to own the results that you create this next hour of your life and in the next five hours of your life and over the course of today and over the course of this week, you are the one that is creating your life and creating those outcomes and creating your day, creating your weeks, creating your months.

You understand that, that the greatest thing ever is that you are in control of the outcomes that you're creating, that is unbelievable and a shift in mindset, if you can get there, no B.S. today. Make a plan, execute on the plan when challenges arise, recognize them as a signal... a signal you're on the right path and deal with them.

You're going to have challenges, you're going to run into obstacles, expect it It's coming, baby. You know that it's coming, deal with them and move on, understand they're a signal of you're doing something right. They are not an excuse to shut down and slow your progress.

So let's go guys, make it a great day. Treat your body well, move your body, be intentional with the energy you're projecting, be aware of that energy or project and protect your mindset and own the results that you create today.

Let's do it, make it a wonderful day.
