Finishing Strong
Podcast Transcription
Hey, guys, it's Matt.
Hope you're all doing really well on today's episode, we're going to talk about finishing strong. We're going to talk about finishing your day, your week, your project's strong. How do you become a strong finisher? We're going to dove into that.
Let's get right into it, here we go.
The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the project's activities and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams?
That is the question. And this podcast is the answer. My name is Matt East and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast. I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.
Hey, guys, it's Matt again. So on the last episode, I released the episode earlier this week and I mentioned that I am now doing Patreon so you can receive a... a, I don't know how long, it is a brief message from me each day, an audio message each day delivered to your inbox Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
And those messages are just meant to be inspirational, motivational, just help you overall, just transform your productivity and just your life in general. I think that they're… the messages are awesome, the subscribers so far have really offered incredible feedback and it's been really positive, people are loving it.
So I wanted to share another one of those, so I talked about ending your week strong, ending your day strong, ending your project strong, becoming a strong finisher in a recent episode. And I wanted to share that here with you today.
So here we go, this is a recent post on Patreon. You can subscribe and receive messages just like this every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and it's only seven ninety seven dollars and ninety nine cents a month. It's an incredible deal, and I would encourage you, I'd love to I'd love if you would support that and become a patron of these audio clips. So that's it, if you guys need anything, let me know let's get right into the episode.
Here we go.
Hey, gang, it's Matt. First off, thank you so much for your support of my patreon page, it's my intention to challenge, motivate and inspire you each day to help you achieve your goals and dreams, if there's something you need, let me know. Remember, as a supporter, you can comment on my page, and I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Also, you can let me know if you want to hear about a specific topic, I would love to hear what you guys want to hear about. I will record something on the topic that you suggest 100 percent no doubt about it, and as you guys know I'm recording and distributing this content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so you should always receive post on those days. And it's Thursday, so it's my last post of the week, let's do it, let's dig in.
So we started the week by taking a deep dive into the power of your mindset. Have you... have you been intentional since we talked about that, about creating a positive mindset for yourself each day? Have you intentionally made the decision to make it a great day? Have you just decided you're going to have a great attitude, you're going to have the best attitude in the room? I hope so...I... that would make a massive difference in anyone's life.
We next talked about the power of recurring revenue and the path to making 100k a month, I hope that got you dreaming a little bit. We then talked about owning the results of your life, I shared what Grant Cardone shared with me, and that is stuff does not happen to you, it happens because of you, and I absolutely love that.
Then yesterday, our episode focused on reframing rejection, and I hope that got you thinking too I love that... that's been so powerful for me. It's literally been like life changing for me, completely transformational for me. I know... I know you guys... oh, I should say first. So today's episode, I want to talk about finishing strong. I'm talking about really, really finishing strong, being a great finisher.
And I know you guys have had a great week because I've only promoted this to my coaching clients and my mastermind members so far. So I know everyone that's a member, I know we communicate literally every day pretty much. So it feels like you guys are implementing and thinking through these topics and not only increasing your ownership of your life and in the amount of action that you're willing to take to make it great. But you're also dreaming a little bit, you know, the revenue topic and the reframe your objection there both to kind of, I don't know, flip your mindset around a little bit.
So I want these episodes to challenge your conventional thinking, and I hope that's happening so so that you're able to create a greater vision for what you want to achieve with with your life and with your time.
So in my experience, I see people typically way overestimate what they can accomplish in, say, an 8 to 12 hour period with like a single day? People are super aspirational around that, which is interesting because the same people way underestimate what they can accomplish over the course of time with persistent action and with executing at their highest level, with a clear plan day after day after day.
You know, you just you typically see a person just overestimate what they can do on a day to day basis and way, underestimate what they can do over the course of time, it happens time and time again. And I want you guys to be aware of that I want you to realize that you can have massive goals and massive dreams out in front of you, but that demands you execute day to day.
And one way you do that is by having a crystal clear, doable plan for your day every single day. And if you're going to execute at your highest level every single day, it's absolutely critical that you finish the projects and you finish your day and you finish your week strong, you have to be a strong finisher, it's 100 percent necessary that you become a great finisher. If you want to take the next take the next step, if you want to take your life to the next level, you have to become a great finisher, there's no other way.
So how do you do that? How do you become a great finisher? How do you become a strong finisher? Anyone can start something enthusiastically, everyone starts out with optimism and energy. Why would you even start something if you weren't excited about it? I mean, that's doesn't even make sense.
So, of course, if you're going to start something, you're starting a big project, you're going to start out, they're going to be enthusiastic and you're going to be optimistic about it. So, you know, everybody is an optimistic starter, but how many strong finishers do you know those are rare. So you've got unlimited optimistic starters and you've got this select few of really strong finishers so...
So how do we finish strong?
Let's think about this from a project standpoint. So how do you finish a project strong? So first you have to know where the finish line is at guys, you have to know what signals that the project is done. How do you know it's done? You have to know exactly where you're trying to get to.
So I'd like would challenge you a little bit, do you know exactly where you're at, where the finish line is for the projects that you're working on? And next, you need to know what still needs to be completed in order to achieve your... your goal, to achieve your project. What still has to get done in order for this to be finished? What do I need to do?
So you don't know where you're going and you got to know what you got to do to get there.
You have to have clarity about exactly how far you have left to go. The latest science, and... and studies on this, it's from the University of Chicago, psychologists have really been digging into this and it shows that focusing on what is remaining, so what still has to be done in order to accomplish your goal is the most important thing to finishing strong from like a scientific perspective.
They call this to go thinking versus reflecting on how far you've already come, which is today thinking. So instead of thinking about how far you've come, the research says...this really surprised me by the way, the research says you're supposed to focus on...on to go thinking, so thinking about what still has to be accomplished to finish the project, that's much more important than reflecting on what has already been accomplished.
So to reiterate that, to go thinking is how much do you still have to go to complete the project? You have to know that, that's the most important piece of data for you to really become a really strong finisher.
So as far as your projects go, I want to challenge you to really get clear about what still has to be accomplished in order to finish the project strong as far as finishing your week, strong, you know, finishing your day strong.
Let's talk about finishing your week strong, I want to challenge you to wrap up this week, the week that we're in executing at a higher level than you started it. I want you to finish this week strong, that is rare, most people do not do that, they come out of the gate firing, they got their week wrapping up. I want you to finish strong, this is critical to your success.
The level of success that you achieve in your life from this point forward is going to be largely dependent on you having the ability to finish the projects you start, ship your work, and then do it over and over again.
Does that make sense?
In order for your work to matter in the marketplace, you've got to understand this, you have to finish it and ship it no amateur B.S. You can't... You can't start projects and stop all the time, you can't get halfway done and stop, you can't get three fourths of the way down and stop, you have to you have to finish it up, you have to establish your targets, understand what needs to be accomplished in order to finish and finish strong, it's... you have to execute, you have to finish stuff, you have to ship stuff.
You know, there's just no excuses not to finish your day, not to finish your week, not to finish your project strong.
It's time to transform yourself into a great finisher.
It's... It's about as easy as it is to decide you're going to have a great day, just decide you're a great finisher from this point forward and start finishing your stuff. If you start something, finish the damn thing, wrap it up, close the deal, launch the book, launch the course, finish your daily priorities and targets that you set for yourself each day despite not feeling like it.
The marketplace guys, I'm telling you, listen to me real fast. The marketplace, the people that pay you money, they don't care if you're tired or anything else, they care that the stuff you're promising gets to their gets to them. The marketplace cares if you finish strong, they care that you're creating stuff and you're shipping stuff. So you have to...
The marketplace cares that you finish and you're able to share your work so that they can consume it.
And, you know, they just see it as very black and white, the marketplace is great. The marketplace sees stuff as black and white, there is no gray area. If your work is not finished and in the public's hands or accessible to the public, it's not complete, even if it's 99.9 percent done if it's launched, if it's not launched I'm sorry.
If it's not launched, that's the same as it never being launched in the customer standpoint. The customer doesn't care that it's that close to done in the customer's eyes nothing matters except the products and services you offer being launched or not like it doesn't matter to them if it's zero percent done or 99 percent done.
Think about your perception of receiving this recording for me. You know, if I message you and I said... or you message me, it's the same. You message me saying Matt where's my recording? And I say, Oh, it's all done. You're like, well, I don't care where is it? Like, I want to hear, like, if I've recorded it and it's all done, but I haven't published it yet. If Imma publish my work, you know, it doesn't matter to you, you want it launched, it needs to be 100 percent done for you to have access to it, you want to hear it, you paid for it, you want to hear... it does no good to have it, 99.9 percent done, you want to have it.
You want to have the finished product.
You need it to be 100 percent done, 99 percent done creates absolutely zero value for you. You know, me being zero percent, 25 percent, 50 percent or 99.9 percent done. Those are all the same to you, you don't care, you need it 100 percent done, you need me to finish strong, you need me to finish the product.
You don't even care if it's hard for me to make if it's easy for me to make, it doesn't matter you and it shouldn't. By the way, who cares? I'm the one that sold it to you, you... All you care about is if it's done or not, and that's the exact same way your customers feel. They, you know, and the marketplace feels you must finish strong, you must demand it from yourself.
You have to start changing your mindset around finishing being optional each day or it being optional that you hit your targets each week and or that, you know, there's just unlimited time and you got to go for launch stuff.
So I just want to challenge you finish today strong, finish this week strong, finish the project that you're focusing on strong.
And that's it, guys I hope that was helpful. Be a great finisher, it's absolutely time, go make it a great day. Have clarity heading into your day, but also have clarity about where the finish line is on these projects, and... and that's going to help you a ton.
That's it guys, thank you so much for being a subscriber. I really appreciate it, it means the world to me, and go out there, finish strong, go get them. And if there's something I can do to help you along the way, let me know.

The Math To Make $100,000 Per Month
To determine how many items you need to sell at various price points to make $100,000 in a month, you can use the following formula:
Number of Items to Sell = Total Income Goal / Price Per Item
So, to make $100,000 in a month:
If you are selling items for $25 each, you need to sell 4,000 items.
If you are selling items for $50 each, you need to sell 2,000 items.
If you are selling items for $100 each, you need to sell 1,000 items.
If you are selling items for $1,000 each, you need to sell 100 items.
If you are selling items for $10,000 each, you need to sell 10 items.
Keep in mind that these calculations assume no additional costs or expenses related to your sales, such as production costs, marketing expenses, or fees associated with the sales platform. The actual number of items you need to sell may vary depending on these factors.

Making 100k Per Month
Podcast Transcription
Hey, guys, it's Matt, welcome in.
Hey, on today's episode, we're going to talk about your mindset, the mindset that you had into the day with. And we're also going to talk about making a hundred thousand dollars of income in a, in a month. Have you ever thought about that? We will in the next few minutes, let's dig right in.
Hey, guys, it's Matt, I hope you're all doing really, really well. Today's a unique episode because I'm announcing a new product, I guess it's a new project, it's both a new product and a new project, and I want to share it. And then I'm going to give you the first post from it, I'm going to share the first few posts on here, and I'm going to share the first one today. I'll share the next two over like the next week or two. But I am on I've started to be on a website it's called Patreon, and what you can do is you can post content, it's basically behind a paywall and you can have people come and support you so they can become a patreon of your work.
So I am starting to share some content that's not quite right for the mastermind that I do, and it's not quite right for a typical podcast. So both this podcast and the mastermind seemed... they're very encouraging, and this podcast is going to be a little more challenging, it's going to be a little bit more of me on my crazy side and could be... have maybe a little more like could occasionally have some, like, foul language, which I try really hard to not do that here.
But this is going to be a lot more like challenging-based, it's going to be very motivational, very inspirational. And instead of talking about it, I will share with you the first post that I did here, so it'll basically be the, the audio. It's an audio file that basically I share every morning that you get access to, and I am doing these every... every single Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So I'm posting content like this every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
And then you can purchase that content, you can purchase access to that content for seven dollars and ninety-nine cents a month. So it's an amazing deal and I don't know here, I'll share with you the first recording, I hope that you love it. And I also hope that you go to patreon.com you can just search Matt East or you can find the link in the show notes for... to hunt me down on Patreon and support this.
But I'm going to share with you the very first post that I did, and I hope you love it, and if you do, I would really appreciate it if you supported it, if you supported this project, that would mean the world to me. So... And I think it would help you know, if you listen to these man, it's going to help you. It's going to be transformational. It's super inspiring, super motivational, I have some patreons because I launched this in my mastermind already, so I think, like, I don't know, six people or something already on there.
So hopefully we'll get some more. Let's get it going, and if you need anything, please don't hesitate. Here we go, here's the first patreon recording and show notes will give you a link so that you can go and sign up if you're interested.
Here we go guys, enjoy.
First off, welcome, thank you so much for supporting my patreon page, and that means the world to me, I really, really appreciate it. It's my goal to deliver 10 times the value back to you for what you're paying for this, so for your monthly investment of what is well under eight bucks, I'm going to try to bring that heat and make sure I'm at least providing I mean, should be more like 100 times the value.
So I'm going to be doing all I can, if there's something that you need, if there's something that I could be doing better, just let me know. A few items before we really dig in, so as a supporter, you can comment on my patreon page, and if you want me to cover a specific topic, just let me know. I will 100 percent record something on the topic that you want, it may not be the same day. I may not be the same week, but I will get to it. So leave a comment. If you want something specific, I will record on it.
Also, just another housekeeping. I will be recording and distributing content every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so that's when you can expect these to drop. As I've shared, Patreon will allow me to be less reserved than my coaching and my podcast do, so I'm going to be really leaning in hard on you and I just want you to know it's going to be it's much more challenging, I'm going to be much more challenging than I am supporting or supportive, like in my coaching and in my podcast.
So just kind of expect that change, expect to feel like I'm challenging you a bit, and my intent is not to be flippant, but it may occasionally come across that way. Just be aware. I'm not trying to do that, my intent is to be challenging, motivational, and to inspire you. So so let's dig right in, let's get into the first one of these, let's do it.
So I'm going to share with you the math to making 100k a month.
Making 100k a month is something I have been focusing on, it's something that I'm working towards, and what a fun topic, man making 100k a month, who doesn't want to make a 100k a month. That's 1.2 million dollars a year for those doing the math.
But before we get into that, let's first just take a moment to get our mind in a positive space. It's Monday, Monday, Monday, Monday. Mondays are a monster day, Mondays are so important because it allows you to set the tone for your week. If you have a great Monday, it's going to make having a great Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so much easier, so you really have the opportunity today to positively impact the rest of your week.
OK, so let's chat through that real quick. So how can we ensure today is a great day so that we can start to build momentum for the weeks, that we can have a great Monday, but then also kind of lead that into having a great Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday? How can we do that?
How can we positively impact today to make sure that it's a, it's a great day?
Here are a few tips:
Number One, this sounds crazy to some people, but let's just make the decision right now. Just make the decision that today is going to be a great day, it's not going to be a good day, it's going to be a great day. You can use your mind, you can have that, you can bring energy and ensure that today is a great day. You just change your mind, if right now you're thinking today is a crap day, you can just boom, change your mind, just change your attitude, change your mindset and just make the decision. You can just make the decision to start from this point forward with today, bring incredible energy to your interactions with others, be positive about your outlook.
You know, you just get to decide the energy that you're going to move through, move through the day with, and it can either be crap energy, you can bring a shitty vibe with you or you can bring an unbelievable vibe and being attractive to make people want to work closer with you and be around you and support you.
And you have the decision, you have the ability to make the decision to do that, you can just decide you're going to make today a great day, you're going to bring great energy, you're going to be a positive influence on others throughout the day, and you're going to encourage others, you're going to bring solutions to the table, not problems.
And, and you're certainly going to face problems throughout the day, I'm not saying you're not. All I'm saying is you can bring an attitude that when those challenges and those problems come up you can bring the attitude that you're going to figure them out.
There's a big difference between facing a challenge and having a crappy attitude that, you know, is just another one of these is going to be a disaster. Or you can say, hey, it's a challenge, I'm going to figure it out. I have challenges literally nonstop all day long, I'm running into stuff. I'm running into issues, problems and, and you know, you just trust yourself to figure them out.
So I really want you moving forward from like this moment on, trust yourself to figure difficult things out, let me say that again. Trust yourself to figure things out, to figure difficult things out. Trust yourself, no melting down, no overreacting, no bitching. The world is not ending when a challenge comes your way, if you run into a challenge take a deep breath, collect yourself and figure out a solution to the problem, you know, that's how you approach that.
You can absolutely trust yourself and figure it out.
Slow down, think through it, think logically, no melting down, no overreacting, and if you're in a bad situation and you're having the same problem over, you know, over and over and over, you know... Maybe change the situation a little bit, get out of that situation and stop putting yourself in that situation.
So anyway, I just want to say I really want you to trust yourself moving forward, trust yourself moving forward that you can solve problems you can absolutely solve, solve the problems that you have in your life, there's no doubt in my mind.
OK.
Number Two to having a great day... second thing you can do so, let's just be super intentional about the information and the content that you're allowing into your brain. No news, no gossip, no crap, you know, just make sure we're consuming stuff that does not make you feel worse.
You want to consume stuff that makes you feel better.
Your mind is a sacred space, and I just want you to protect it today. So in order to make today a great day, first thing, make the decision that is going to be a great day. Number two, be intentional about what you're allowing into your brain, who are you around? What content are you allowing? No, no news, no gossip, no crap. OK?
Third thing, how do you make today a great day? Make a plan, man come on!
You know, I was going to say that you've got to make a plan. What are you going to focus your time and energy on today? There is zero doubt you can't convince me otherwise, the most successful people in the world do not meander through their day, they are not just waking up and taking it as it comes, they have annual goals, they have monthly and weekly targets, they set daily priorities and they execute.
Make a plan for your day, if you want to have a great day.
It'll reduce procrastination, it will increase your clarity as you move from one task to the next throughout the day. There is just no downside to designing a plan to your day if you haven't done it, I know we're already through one quarter of the year, but set your freaking annual goals if you haven't done it, if you have not set your goals, set your goals, and that way you can start to develop some monthly and weekly targets, and I would just really encourage you to do that.
OK, bonus tip for having a great day. I've got a man I'm eight minutes in it's crazy.
Bonus tip, let's... let's take time today to nourish our body with fresh water, fresh food, things that are going to help us have a lot of energy.
Let's take time to move our body, take a walk, take a jog, get out, move around, even just I've been you know, I work at a computer all day long, I've noticed that just kind of standing up and bouncing in place for 30 seconds feels great, my doctor gave me this recommendation for me to give my lymphatic system a boost. So just take some time, bounce around for 20 seconds, 30 seconds or a minute, it feels great, but take time to move your body, drink water, drink food or eat good food, and those are some tips to get your Monday off to a good start.
All right, let's get into the meat of this post already, what are we, nine minutes in? OK.
So making a 100 thousand dollars a month, can you do... do you know anybody making 100k a month? I know a few you guys that are that are making 100k a month and... and they're doing better than, than my friends making 10k a month, so I can definitely tell you that.
So... and by the way, I don't think money's the answer to all problems, but man, are you willing to just like open up your spirit to you understand like, it's not bad to want money like, can you just say like, I'd like to make 100k a month. Have you ever said that I want to make about a 100k a month? You know, for me personally, I want to make about a 100kd month.
So... so let's chat through how do we do that. You guys all know, you guys if you've been listening or following my work at all, you know I love reoccurring revenue, meaning I like the I like to receive money from clients month after month after month and this pricing model does a couple of things.
So first, it's going to make your products much more affordable. So personally, I sell things from now 7.99 a month, which is this Patreon offer to 5k a month. All is... all is recurring monthly revenue. So if I sold those products annually instead of monthly, you know, it would require buyers for this, so this is 7.99 a month for this patreon offer that be 95 dollars and 88 cents.
I'd have a really hard time selling people this for 95.88, wherewith 7.99 people can try it people can jump in there like 7.99 it's no big deal, starting getting up to that hundred dollar price point, you start to run into some resistance.
So by pricing it monthly, it just makes it, makes it way more attainable to buy for, for many users. I mean, actually, 100 bucks is a lot of money for some people, so the 7.99 lets there be a lot more, a lot more target buyers.
Then you know, other things I sell personally, you know, I sell a coaching program at 500 dollars a month, that would be 6000 dollars annually if I required it to be paid uptime or upfront annually. So instead of 6000 dollars a year, I'm able to offer that coaching at 500 dollars a month. I have a mastermind it's 29.99 a month, meaning 29 dollars and 99 cents a month. That is 359 dollars and 88 cents if I charge people one time over the course of a year.
So it just becomes way easier for me to sell my products and for you to sell products at a monthly rate as opposed to an annual rate. So that's one reason I just love it because it allows for more buyers, it just encourages people to... it just makes it way more affordable for your customers and clients to buy stuff for you. So that's, that's the... the number one reason I like... I like it from.
The other reason I really like it is from a cash flow perspective.
So I love recurring revenue because it eliminates financial peaks and valleys, so you know where one month you're making 45k month in the next you're making 25 hundred a month with recurring revenue models if your business is built around that, you'll never have that issue because your cash flow becomes so predictable, you should never decrease month to month unless you're losing more clients than you're gaining.
So, you know, if you're... if all of your financial models are built around recurring revenue, it should just be a steady tick-up and never really a decline ever. So and you just are going to know your... your monthly income is going to be so predictable, whereas if you're selling stuff just one time, you're going to really have a lot of ups and downs financially. So that's why I love a monthly recurring revenue.
So let's do some dreaming.
So how do you get to how do you start to build some recurring revenue and how do you get to 100K? So let's just do some math, let's back into some math. So if you were able to sell 20 thousand people something at five dollars, that gets you to 100k a month. If you were to sell something at... if you're able to sell 5 thousand people at 20 dollars a month, that gets you to 100k, if you were selling something to 2 thousand people, at 50 dollars a month, that gets you to a 100 thousand dollars.
Man see that starts to be really attainable 2 thousand people at 50 dollars a month, gets you to 100k a month that's amazing. At 75 bucks, you need a 100 or you need 1033 people to get you to 100 came up, so 75 bucks you need 1033 people. Now it starts to get a little crazy at a, at a 1000 customers or subscribers paying a 100 dollars a month, that gets you to a 100k, that's pretty doable too. Then at 400 subscribers, so if you had 400 subscribers you'd have to charge them 250 dollars, that gets you to a 100k a month, ain't that amazing?
Is that even right? is that right? I got to do the math on that, that does not seem right. Is that possible? My brain, I did the math on this, hold on one second. 400 times, 250 bucks, that's frickin amazing right there. You only need 400 customers that are... you're charging 250 dollars to, to make a 100 thousand dollars a month, that's incredible. You need 200 customers at 500 dollars to get you to a 100k. You need a 100 customers at a 1000 bucks to get you to 100k. And you need, let's see here you need, what is it, 40 you need 40 customers at 25 hundred bucks to get you to 100 hundred thousand a month.
So and if you even... you can go deeper, you can go less so you could do 20 subscribers or customers at 5000 dollars a month to get you to 100k, ain't that amazing. You only need 20 customers that you're charging 5k a month to get you to 100k. You need 10 customers, if you're charging 10k monthly to get you to a 100 thousand a month, you need 4 customers that are paying you 25k a month to get you to 100k.
So you're like Matt, those numbers seem a little crazy, those... that seems I can't do that. Those would be hard to do even that, I would challenge that thinking like some of these numbers just it just amazes me that four hundred subscribers at 250 dollars a month get you to 100k it's amazing.
So, you know, I've really distributed my recurring revenue very widely, I mentioned that earlier. I have customers paying me 5k a month, I have customers paying me now 7.99 a month. So there's... and there's a lot of range in between there.
So let's start to mix it up.
How can you get to 100k if you, if you are at different price points, let's just give you an example. So if you have 4 clients who pay you 5k a month, that seems reasonable, 4 clients who pay you 5k a month, that gets you to 20k. So you're at 20k, if you have 8 clients who pay you 25 hundred dollars, that's another 20k, so you're up to 40k at that point. Then if you have another 100 clients who pay you a 100 bucks, 100 bucks a month, that seems very doable. That gets you 10k, so now you're at 50k a month with those three revenue streams. Then if you just do two more, you do 500 clients who pay you 50 bucks a month. That gives you 25 thousand more dollars a month. And if you do a 1000 clients who pay you 25 dollars a month, that gives you 25, another 25k, that gets you a 100 thousand dollars a month.
It's not... it's not even, I shouldn't say it's not like reasonable, I'm not there, I'm not making 100k a month at this point. That is a goal of mine, it's something I'm working on, I'm, I'm working... I'm, I'm not super far off but I'm not there yet and I'm working on this, it's something that I plan to be doing here shortly. But, man, I have been looking at this math for a long time. It's why I build a lot of products that are all... everything I'm selling except my books is a recurring model.
I don't even do, I do like no one-off consulting right now. I don't even think if somebody were going to pay me like twenty K for like a little like a 20-hour project or something, which would be a 1000 dollars an hour, I don't think I would take it, I just wouldn't do it. I want that money over the course of time, I want you to be like a customer for, for a long time, I want to be making that, I want to be making that monthly income off of you.
So and I recorded this way longer than I planned to, but I hope that got your brain going a little bit, man doing the math to a 100k doing the math. I can't believe 400 hundred subscribers at 250 bucks get you to that gets you to a 100 thousand dollars, that is extremely reasonable.
So I hope that, I hope that helped, I hope it challenged you, think, I mean think about this... If you're half off on this stuff you're still making 50k a month which is good, I mean you're making 50k a month if you don't get to a100 and you fail, if you only hit half your goals, if you back in the math of what you want to build products for and you get halfway there, you're still at 50k. Heck, if you screw that up and you only get half of that, you're still at 25k, that's more than most people are making, so 25k month if, if you, if you really botch it.
So figure out a path, figure out a path to get you to hit your goals.
And obviously, this is just an example if your goal was a 100k month. To get to a million bucks a year, you only have to be at 83333 dollars and that gets you to a million. So to keep that in mind, you don't even need to be at 100K to make a million bucks a year. You need to be at 83 thousand dollars 333.
So alright guys, I hope that was helpful, I feel like it was kind of a rant, I'll get better. I'll keep improving at this, they'll get shorter, I'm playing it. I really want these to be like two or three minutes long, not sure how this got to twenty minutes, but whatever.
I hope you guys liked it, hope it helped you hope it... hope it challenged your thinking, to think of ways to blow up your income, make your income bigger, make some more money, open up your mindset, pull you out of that like middle-class mindset and say, hey let's make some real money, let's make some real money around here.
So I hope I hope one of you guys makes 100k a month soon and if you do, I'd love to know it. I would absolutely love to hear that, I have clients who are making 100k a month, by the way, it's very possible, and you can do it.
So that's it, bye bye.
Hey, guys, it's Matt again.
I hope you absolutely loved that, so that was the first posting that I did for my patreon or my patreons on Patreon. Patreon is p a t r e o n .com and then you just it says find a creator in the top right corner you search for Matt east and I'd pop right up. Go there and get in this, you get these audios every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for under eight bucks, I mean, I'm going to deliver so much more value than that if you actually listen to these and implement some of the things that we talk about are all of the things that we talk about.
So I did this episode and then I've also done an episode on Taking Ownership of your life, that was a really good episode, got some really positive feedback. And then today I had recorded an episode called Increasing the Level of Rejection You Face.
So anyway, that's it.
I hope that you are doing really well and I would love to have you come be a patreon on Patreon. So if you have any questions, if you need anything, just let me know. But I would love to have your support, really need support to keep this going and your support would, would mean the world to me and getting audio every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And my, my clips will not be this long. Usually, you are going to be like three to I'd say three to seven minutes.
So that's it guys, that's it.
And go, go pull the trigger, go pull out your credit card and buy this man. It's going to be awesome, it's going to help you and, and it will help me, you support your support would be amazing.
So that's it guys, bye-bye.

Hey, guys, it's Matt, I hope you're all doing really well.
I received some really positive feedback from the episode I shared yesterday, and it was just from a clip of the mastermind that I had shared with them. So I'm going to share another clip today as we're heading into, can you believe it, the second quarter of 2021, so this is just a clip from the mastermind recorded today I figured I'd share it here, and hope you guys love it. Here we go.
The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the project's activities and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams?
That is the question, and this podcast is the answer. My name is Matt East and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast. I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.
Hey, guys, it's Matt, I hope we're all doing really, really well. I wanted to do a quick recording because today is the first day of Q2, so can you believe it? The first quarter of 2021 is behind us, we are officially into the second quarter.
So that means we're about 25 percent of the year done, I think technically today is 24.66 percent of the year is done and we're in day number 91 today. So we're 91 days into 2021 and that means that we have 274 days remaining, so 274 days remaining in 2021. So there's still a lot that you can accomplish and a lot that you can do.
Just a reminder, if you're at all struggling and you're not quite where you wanted to be in 2021 at this point, just remember to fall back on the basics. So continue to do your top three each day, know your weekly targets as you head into the week, and continually review your goals for the year, we want to know where you're going, you want to know where you're going, and keep those goals top of mind. Have them someplace where you can reference often, and... and then just, you know, the more you can be consistent with your top three and the more you can align those top three with your broader goals mean you're going to be in good shape then just, you know, other basics is other things to keep in mind, to try to really bring good energy each day and, and bring a great attitude that can make a huge difference.
Eat healthy foods, drink lots of freshwater, get plenty of rest, and... and you can approach your day with clarity like we talked about. So all those things super basic, like literally the most basic things ever, and they can have a massive, massive impact on your performance. So get rest, drink water, eat healthy foods, bring a great attitude, bring great energy into the situations that you're in.
Be consistent with your top three and know where you're going, have those goals clearly identified.
So if you haven't done your goals, most of you guys actually have shared your goals with me. If you haven't done them in the 2021 group, you've at least shared them just with me, so that's great. So you know where you're going once you know where you're going, and that's half the battle we can back into. We can back into where we need to get once we know where we're going so that we can use our... your top three for that and make lots of progress.
So 274, four days remaining, three quarters remaining ones behind us. Seems like the years flying for me, I'm both making tremendous progress in areas and there's stuff... there's other areas where I really need to pick it up.
So a little bit of a combination, but it's a great day to review your goals if you haven't done that in a little while. And that's it guys, let's, let's continue the progress.
You guys are doing really fantastic, it's so much fun seeing your top three each day.
This group coaching and mastermind blows my mind, it's way, way cooler than I expected it to be when I initially launched this. So keep up the good work, you guys are doing great. Full steam ahead and please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything specific, I want to help you achieve your goals. So if there's something that I can do, please let me know, I will do everything that I can to try to get you to where you're where you want to be, so that's it.
I want to help you achieve your goals, don't be shy.
If there's something I can do specific, please let me know if there's some level of accountability that I can provide for you specifically that you're not getting today, please let me know. We'll get it figured out.
So that's it, guys, hope you're having a great week, hope you're having a solid day. And if you need anything, please give me a shout bye.

How to Set Weekly and Daily Targets
Podcast Transcription
Hey guys, it's Matt, I hope you're all doing really well.
On today's episode, we're going to talk about the importance of setting targets, or targets for your week, targets for your day, and... and just setting those targets so that you can achieve the things that you want, and I can't wait to get into it, so let's do it.
All right, let's talk target. So for my mastermind group, most of you guys know I host to mastermind, so I hosted a mastermind. Right now, I think there's around 50 ish people in it, people from all over the world it's an amazing group of people. It's just an absolutely amazing, amazing, amazing thing, so it's a group coaching and, and mastermind within slack, so it's hosted in slack.
But within this group, I post a lot of audio and video that's just for the mastermind group, and today I'm going to share... it's about a five-minute clip where I'm talking about targets and it's something that I just shared in the mastermind, and I thought people listening to the podcast might benefit from it, too.
So if you are curious at all, by the way, about the mastermind, you can try it free for seven days. It's it's awesome, and there's only, it's only 29.99 a month after the seven days is up... Per month, so it's 29.99 a month, that's awesome. If you're curious about it, it's for those looking to that, just want to accomplish more each day, want to reclaim their time, want to be more intentional with how they're kind of moving through their day, a lot of members want to stop feeling overwhelmed so that they can focus more on what matters more to them.
If you're just, in general, wanting to make more progress on some specific goals, it's the place for you, it's really, really, really cool. It's just a great group in general, just...just amazing, amazing people. If you want to stop procrastinating and procrastinating and take more action, that is the group for you, it's absolutely the best deal and coaching that I think exists, it's 29.99 a month, so it's less than a buck a day, and man we interact every day in there. If you're in that group, I am in, I'm in it everyday baby, so I love it. It's definitely worth spending a lot of my time and energy right now and I just, I just love the group.
So I post my top three priorities in there every day too, so if you're ever if you're like, well, what does Matt do? That's the spot to see, anyway so check that out if you're interested, you can do that just at my website and then you click the seven-day free trial, my website is Matt-East.com so M a t t dash and then E a s t .com and then just go to the seven-day free trial and you should be all set, so that's it man.
I'm going to share my clip now that I recorded in the Mastermind and hopefully it's helpful, hopefully, you guys find some value in it. So if you want more of these to be posted here, send me a note, let me know, or even better yet, jump in the mastermind man, there's nothing to it. That's it, if you guys need anything, please don't be shy, happy to help any way I can, and hope you guys are all doing great and achieving big things this year. So I would love to hear from you if I haven't in a while, so I would love to get an email from you or better yet, see a pop in the mastermind group.
That's it guys bye.
Hey, Masterminders, it's Matt, I hope you're all doing really well, I just wanted to record a quick audio heading into the week, just a little encouragement and maybe a little motivation as you are getting prepared for the week.
I just want to challenge you to take some time to make sure you're crystal clear on your targets for, for the week.
There's absolutely no doubt that high performers know where they're going and they have a plan to get there, and I just want to challenge you to try to have a good idea of what you want to achieve with your time this week. What are the... it's not going to be 60 things.
What are the two or three projects, what are the two or three things that you are really going to move forward? And what does that look like? Be precise. What does it mean to move forward? How are you going to make that progress? How are you going to push your things forward? How are you going to dedicate some time and energy towards them this week? How are you going to make time to do that, if you have the time, what are the very clear activities and tasks that need to be completed to knock those things out, to make some progress, to move things forward?
And that is going to help so much, I know that sounds so simple and it's definitely, it's definitely back to the basics. But if you're struggling to determine what you should focus on, go back to your annual goals and start to align some things that you could accomplish this week to move forward on those annual goals, that's absolutely your best bet.
If you're... if you're struggling, if you're not sure where you're at, if you haven't done your annual goals, guys... get your annual goals done, because everything we're going to be doing in this program is hopefully making progress towards those, and we're going to, we want our top three to be aligned with those as often as possible.
So if you're unclear on your goals, get clear on your goals.
You'll notice this I see members right now. Laura is a good example, she made the decision a week or two ago, I don't know how long ago was maybe three weeks ago, I'm not sure how long ago was. But she made the decision, hey, I'm going to write a book so you can now see in her top three, she's literally like almost every day I'm seeing activity towards the book. It made setting those top three, I'm sure I mean, I haven't talked to her about it, but I'm sure that it made setting those top three so much easier because she made the decision, hey, I'm going to write a book now, I'm going to align my priorities up with that book. You know, I have a big focus right now on growing my business, and you will usually see that I am doing some I'm focusing some of my time and energy each day with my priorities being focused on my business, and I'm usually trying to do something around growth, business growth.
So I just want to challenge you to, if you haven't done your annual goal setting and it doesn't have to be huge, just it's just whatever you want, think about what you want to accomplish and, and make that a goal and share those, share those in the 2021 goal group. And then that should make you're setting your priorities much, much simpler.
If you have done your... your goals for the year, if you have written them down and shared them, then setting your priorities should never be that difficult because you can go back, you can reference your goals and you can start to figure out, hey what actually needs to go on today to move the needle forward and, and you should be in pretty good shape, so that's it.
I know, super simple, super basic. But it's those, you know fundamentals, I talk about this all the time that fundamental principles drive high performance so much, and this is a perfect example.
Look at your annual goals and start to think back or think through, what can I accomplish this week? What would move the needle forward a little closer on my part to get me to those annual goals? And, and then you can prioritize each day around making sure you hit that weekly target.
So that's it, Crystal clear, I want you guys to be crystal clear on your priorities, crystal clear on your ...what you want to actually achieve, what you're focusing on, and, and that is going to help so much, we've... I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago and Martin really liked it.
That meandering through your day is just exhausting, and that's what we want to avoid. We want to be crystal clear, we want to have certain certainty about where we're going and, and that'll help so much.
So that's it guys, if you need anything, let me know. I want to help you achieve your goals. If I can help you achieve your goals, please let me know if there's something specific I can do. I want to help you, the group wants to help you reach out for help if you need help, we are here to help, I am here to help.
Don't be shy, I can... I can definitely help you. I want to hear what you're working on, and I want to hear how... how I can support you.
So that's it, guys. Make it a great week, let's do it a big, big week. This a big time of year right now, let's capitalize on it bye.
Hey, guys, I hope you found that helpful, hope you gained a couple good ideas from that, and I hope you are identifying your targets each day and each week as you are working towards your goals.
If you guys need anything, please don't be shy, please feel free to reach out to me. You can hunt me down on my website Matt-East.com or easier just type in like Matt East productivity in Google and I'll pop right up. So if you need anything, please don't be shy, I'm happy to help in any way I can.
So that's it guys bye.

How Michael Jordan's Practice Habits Can Make Your Life Better
Podcast Transcription
Hey, it's Matt, hope you're all doing really well.
On today's episode, we're going to chat through what Michael Jordan did to begin every basketball practice when he was a professional. And we're going to tie it into what you can do, how you can apply those same principles to begin your day and can't wait to get into it. Let's do it.
Hey, guys, it's Matt. Hope you're all doing really well, thank you so much for tuning in and let's get right into it.
So I mentioned in the intro I wanted to chat through what Michael Jordan did to begin each of his practices as a professional and his training sessions, so he, I was listening to a podcast by his personal trainer, his personal trainer was a guy by the name of Tim Grover, and Tim mentioned that Michael started each practice with the most like basic fundamental move, basketball move that you can possibly do, he started it with... always started his practices by doing chest pass, chest passes.
So when you're like four or five years old and you go to your first basketball practice, that's the very first thing you learn, a bounce pass, and a chest pass... And the chest pass is literally the most basic basketball skill that you can learn before you dribble, before you shoot, before you do a layup, you're going to do the chest pass and the bounce pass.
So I found that absolutely fascinating that the best, you know, who's considered by most people the greatest basketball player ever. He started each practice with the most fundamental basic skill, and I just think that that applies so much to how we can begin our days successfully and how we can plan our days to be successful, and it's not something that super complicated or complicated at all, I think it's going back to the basics.
And it's something that as I work with people that hire me, you know, and probably one in five people will push back on how we start our coaching because I always like to start with the client sending me their top 3 priorities for the day, and, you know, they'll push back because they're like, man, I hired you because I want to accomplish a ton, not just 3 things each day when I say, you know, stick with the process, there's absolutely a reason I do that and it works and don't overthink it, and let's do it, top 3 priorities for the day.
And I just think a ton about how, you know, to tie it back to Jordan, how he used, you know, the foundation of the most basic principles, a way to get started in a way to ensure that he had a solid foundation, and I think the top 3 is so much identifying your top 3 priorities of what you want to spend your time and energy on. I just think that that's a super powerful way to start, and it's the same thing Jordan was doing, you're establishing your foundation for the day.
What are the top 3 things I need to do?
And a lot of the people that have a lot of pushback to doing the top 3, it's you know, it's the same people that get way overwhelmed with wanting to do way too much in a single day or believing that they can accomplish much more than they actually can in a single day.
So starting out with that top 3 can just be absolutely game-changing, and to set a solid foundation for your day and for what you want to accomplish with, with your focus or with your time, or with your energy throughout the day. And I always think, you know, if you can't execute on a... If you can't execute on a chest pass like Jordan, you know, you can't dunk or dribble or shoot well, like, if you can't get the foundation right, you're not too useful to your team.
If you can't execute on a pass, you basically can't be on the floor. So you have to get the basics down, and I think that's what we're doing with the that's exactly what we're doing with our top 3. If you can't identify the top 3 things that you need to execute on that day, how in the world are you going to accomplish your larger goals and make serious progress?
And in your in all your endeavors, you know, if you're trying to build a business, you need to be able to identify the 3 things that are actually going to move the needle that day, it's not thirty things, it's not twenty things. What are the 3 things that you're going to do to them that are going to move the needle that day? It's so important. So, so, so important and underrated, super underrated.
So just kind of wanted to share that, wanted to throw that out there for you guys and encourage you like, you know, if you feel like that identifying that top 3 for you is really difficult don't freak out about that, it's a good sign, it means that you're actually thinking it through. And if you feel like, man, I should be doing 15 or 20 of these things, not just 3, you can do more than 3. What I'm asking you to do is identify those top 3, what are the top 3 of that 15 so that you can identify that's what needs done initially.
And that's what I want to make sure I'm focusing on today, that's what I want done at the end of the day. And you can, you can always add some additional priorities to your day, I do that literally every day. I try to identify my top 3, it's hard for me because it takes thought, makes me, you know, think about what I actually need to get done instead of just going through the motions each day, and then I identify the other things I want to accomplish.
So I'm almost always doing more than 3 things but that exercise forces me to make sure I'm intentional about what is really getting my time and energy that day.
So I just wanted to share that hope that's helpful a little bit.
Also, I started a, I think I've mentioned this, if I haven't, I need to.
I started a mastermind, it's amazing.
There's like I don't know how many people are in it right now 40 or something, 39 I don't know, I should pull that up, and anyway, it's amazing. People from all over the world think of the, you know, whatever it is, 40 ish members, there's like 25 countries probably represented, which is amazing people from all over the world, so, yeah, that's it.
Think about your top 3.
If you need help with that, join the mastermind. It's 29 bucks a month, which is like the most amazing coaching deal. I think that there is so much coaching is so hard to generate an ROIC off of, it's like a scam out there. If somebody is charging you like thousands of dollars a month, it's almost impossible to make that backup but 29 bucks a month mastermind group, you can DM me in there so there's still one on one communication, but there are some amazing people in there, amazing, amazing people in there.
There's some people in there that I've coached for a long time that have really changed their life by through coaching and through, I have not done it because they've actually taken action on their stuff, so I'm not taking credit for what they've accomplished. But I think I have one client who has helped me pull up his numbers, who has set his top 3 priorities for 765 days, which is absolutely amazing, and he's in the mastermind and he's crushing it.
He has like literally transformed his life over that 765 days, he went from a job that he hated to creating a job and a position where he can be an entrepreneur in the world that he loves. So amazing guy his name's Eli and there's just, it's just full of amazing people, it's absolutely full of some really encouraging and incredible people.
So that's it, man. Do your top 3, get back to the fundamentals, have a good base for your day, just like Jordan started his practices with, with the chest pass, use that same principle in becoming super effective in your own life. And I know it sounds super simple just try it, try for some days.
Oh, the mastermind, you can try for 7 days for free and just sign up. Just go to my website and there's a thing right now that says try the mastermind for 7 days, I don't know how long that's going to be up there. So if you're listening to this and it's not up there in 60 or 6 months or a year from now, it's because I've removed it, but it's up there right now.
I'm recording this on February 25th, 2021 and it is up there and I'll keep it up there at least for a couple of weeks so you can try the mastermind absolutely free for 7 days and you can see how identifying your top 3 affects your day and you can have a group of people helping you.
So to do that, you can go to can either go to Matt-East.com, that's just my website, or you can go to ProductivityMonsters.com, ProductivityMonsters.com and get signed up, it's awesome, the group is amazing, it's full of amazing people, and if you've ever thought of hiring a coach and then you go to try to hire a coach, you're like doing this is expensive.
This is the perfect solution for you, it is literally perfect.
So that's it, that's like the only drawback of coaching is that it's so damn expensive. It's just ridiculous, it's insane and, yeah, it's crazy, crazy. So, yeah, this is a great option, 29 bucks, try it for free for 7 days and join the crew, there are some absolutely amazing people in there and hunt Eli down and tell him I was bragging about him.
All right, that's it, you guys be good. If you need anything, let me know if there's anything I can help you with, let me know and jump in the mastermind and go to ProductivityMonsters.com or my website, Matt-East.com and hop in there.
I would say I'm going to record more podcasts, but I can't promise that we've been traveling a ton and podcasting is not that easy. When I'm, when you're traveling, like you can hear cars probably driving by right now because we're in an Airbnb that is close to the road and yeah, that's it.
All right, you guys be good, if you need anything, let me know bye.

Your Goals And Responding To Challenges
Podcast Transcription
Hey guys, it's Matt, hope you're all doing really well.
On today's episode, we're going to talk about how to react when obstacles and challenges arise as you are pursuing your 2021 goals, so let's get right into it.
The big question we all face every morning is this: How can we focus more time on the projects, activities, and relationships that are most important and meaningful to us and less time on the stuff that doesn't matter so we can actually move closer to our goals and dreams?
That is the question, and this podcast is the answer. My name is Matt East and welcome to the Goal Achievement podcast. I'm so glad you're here, now let's dig in.
Hey guys, it's Matt, I hope you're all doing really, really well and hope your 2021 is off to a great start.
So I hope you have already not only thought about your goals but got, gotten them out of your head and down on paper and so that you're able to track them and reference them throughout the year, and then even better than that, I would strongly encourage you to share your goals with somebody, share your goals with an accountability partner and somebody that can keep you on track and that's going to even help you more.
So find a friend that can help you that can that you can keep each other accountable and that's going to help you even more than just writing your goals down, so you want to write your goals down and try to build in some accountability. If you don't know of somebody that can help you or if you want to work with a, with a coach or in a more formal setting, there are a ton of amazing coaches out there. Hire a coach to help you out and, and dig in with a coach.
If you want to learn more about my coaching, you can go to my website and check that out. So if you're interested in that, just Google Matt and productivity or Matt East and productivity or just productivity coaching, and I should pop right up.
So, yeah... So get your goals down on paper, work with somebody, an accountability partner, and that's going to help a ton. I always work with a coach, I always get my goals down on paper. Rachel and I, for the last decade, my wife Rachel and I have written our goals down and it's amazing to see how, how much that's affected us and helped us, and as we reflect back, we always do end of the year review and look back at what we've done. And it's crazy, it's crazy... crazy to see the progress, and... and I would strongly encourage you to not only set goals, but write them down, find a coach or work with a friend and, and get an accountability partner.
So what I want to talk about today is:
What happens after you've started working on your goals and challenges and obstacles pop up?
I want to talk about how you're going to react to them, because, you know they're coming, there's no way your year is just going to be... no problems and no obstacles and no mistakes and you're going to face no pushback, you know. There's 100 percent chance that there's going to be challenges, there's going to be obstacles, and I just want to chat through challenging you on how you're going to react.
So how are you going to react?
You've got your goals, and once you have your goals, it's important to recognize that stuff is going to pop up along the way. Maybe you're going to make a mistake or some obstacle that you don't even see coming is going to, going to pop up and you're going to face some pushback that you're not a, you weren't expecting out of the gate, you know when you set goals.
I know when I set my goals, I just think I'm going to, like crush them, and it's going to be like, I don't know, no worries at all. And then, you know, real-life sets in and you go to record a podcast like this, and my microphone wasn't working and stuff like that happened.
So I just want to challenge you.
How are you going to react when those challenges and obstacles pop up in your way?
Are you going to quit and give up and, you know, just downplay how important that goal was from the start and not pursue it and move on and think you're not able to, to follow through? Or are you going to put up a fight and you're going to respond and you're going to overcome and, and I hope that's what you choose.
So I just want to encourage you, out of the gate to recognize that there's going to be unforeseen challenges.
And when that happens, it does not mean that you need to quit or you need to stop or it was a bad goal from the start or anything like that. It means that you need to slow down, make a plan, figure out how to respond, take a deep breath and fight on, push on. But don't give up, don't give up.
So as you look at your goals, try to figure out what might be an obstacle, what could pop up along the way that could stop you or could prevent you from achieving that goal, and try to figure out a way to make sure that doesn't happen and figure out a way that you are going to combat it. If something does happen, how are you going to respond and think about how you're going to respond and how you're going to overcome those challenges and those obstacles?
Think about that ahead of time, stuff's going to pop up, man... There's no doubt about it, if you have some good goals and you're working towards them every day, stuff is going to pop up.
So I want you to think through how you're going to overcome those, those obstacles, or if you make a big mistake, how are you going to react to it, are you gonna beat yourself up and... and have a pity party and... and stop working on the goal for a while? Or are you going to dig in, overcome the mistake, own it and, and get going?
So there's no doubt I man, you've got to if you want to achieve amazing things in 2021 you've got to stop talking about doing stuff and actually take action. There is such a gap in our society right now of people talking about doing stuff versus actually doing stuff, and I just want to encourage you to do stuff, take action, make stuff happen, take massive action and make stuff happen, and if you're making stuff happen and you're taken action at a, at a level like you should be, you're going to make mistakes, man, you're absolutely going to make mistakes.
You're going to have to overcome obstacles, you're going to deal with pushback, you're going to deal with pushback from people that you didn't even expect to push back. You're going to have, you're going to experience pushback from like your manager who you thought was going to support you, and they're pushing back.... or your spouse sues, you know, saying, why are we doing this?
So be ready, how are you going to respond? How are you going to figure out a way to collaborate and push through and overcome those challenges when they arise? I hope so, and I just want to encourage you to take action, wanna encourage you this year to allow your... I talk about this all the time, I want to encourage you to allow your motivation to follow your action and not the other way around.
I don't want when I challenge you to not spend the year waiting to feel motivated in order to do this stuff that you want to do. If you want to do something, start on it and your motivation will follow and allow that, I trust that motivation to follow. That's the, that is such a big concept in such an important concept right now.
So get started, and... and when you're, when your motivation is waning, I know everybody is excited right now, but when your motivation starts to starts to trickle off, don't... don't quit, keep taking action, and as you take action, your motivation will fall, I know I use this as a... as a reference all the time.
But like, if you're, if you exercise a lot, you know, I think how many times you've had to start exercising before you felt like you wanted to exercise, you know, that you're like ten minutes into a workout usually before you're like, oh, this feels good and I'm glad I'm doing this, and trust that that same... that same, I don't know what you'd call that concept works across different areas of your life, like your work. So trust that if you start, and you get started... that your motivation and your, your want to continue will, will follow.
So trust your motivation to follow after you take action this year.
That could be a game-changer for you guys, that's it, really, I just wanted to get on here real quick. I just had a few minutes to, to get on here and wanted to share that. I figured everybody was talking about goal setting and all that good stuff, so I thought I would chat through what happens when the challenges arise in the coming months and the obstacles.
So think through now how you're going to react to that, and I hope you choose to... to fight and to keep going and to not give up this year. So that's it guys, I hope you're all doing really well. Hit me up if you need anything, there's still... I'm still got spots open for the 29 dollars a month digital coaching.
I mean, that is like the best deal in coaching ever, so if you're interested, take advantage of it. I should have spots, I should continue to have some spots open, but... but you never know. So jump in there and you know my website, it's Matt-East.com and I would love to, I would love to see you over there.
So that's it, you hope you guys are doing really well. And if you need anything, please don't be shy, bye.

A Free Accountability Tool For Improved Focus and Concentrate
Podcast Transcription
Hey guys, it's Matt. Hope you're doing really well.
On today's episode, I'm going to share a free online accountability tool that will help you to focus and concentrate better, and I think you're going to absolutely love it, I share it with my clients all the time, and every person I've ever shared it with has loved it and raved about it, so let's do it.
Hey, guys, how are you? It's Matt, hope you're doing really, really well, hope you're ending the year strong, hope you had a great holiday season so far. So I'm recording this on the 29th. So what, a couple of days, a few days left in the year as we wrap up 2020 and head into 2021, I'm really excited for, for the New Year and a lot of positive stuff going on and I'm, I'm excited, really excited for 2021.
But today I have a very specific question, so we have a listener question. So thanks so much for sending this in, one of my clients sent this in. So the question is, Matt:
I Lose my focus easily... Do you know of anything that would help me concentrate more during the day?
So if you're a long-time listener of the podcast, I'm sure you've heard me mention this in passing, but I've never done a full episode on it, so my love has only deepened for this solution then I'm going to mention. But yes, I do have a recommendation that I feel strongly about and it's called Focus Mate.
So focusmate is a free resource that connects you with a virtual accountability partner, and it's perfect for, you know, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and just about anybody at this point that's trying to get work done at home, so that's most people, and according to the Focus Mate website, it helps 95.5 percent of the users that use it increase their productivity and reduce procrastination.
And I've personally recommended this so many times to clients and to people when we meet for the complimentary 15-minute introduction call that I do, coaching session than I do, and the percent I've seen are like 100 percent of people like I think every person I've ever recommended this to loves it, and it's free for a few sessions a month, that used to be, I think, unlimited free, but now there is a small charge for unlimited sessions, it's I think it's 5 dollars a month, but you can do 3 sessions for free.
So it's focusmate.com so f o c u s m a t e .com and it's awesome, and I should mention I'm not affiliated with focusmate in any way, I just stumbled upon it, stumbled upon it when I was trying to focus on writing I think it was, and I loved it, that was like a couple of years ago and it's amazing, it's an amazing tool.
So I pulled some questions and answers off of their website to answer them, because whenever I talk about it, I get a ton of questions and I just figured I would actually read exactly, basically from their website for the questions that they get asked a lot, because I'm sure you're thinking the same thing.
So what does focusmate cost? I touched on this, but focusmate is free for three sessions, they're 15 minutes each, you can't adjust the time, they're all 15 minutes. So you can do 3 free sessions every week and you can do unlimited sessions, it's I think the upgrade is called Turbo and you can go to a Turbo level for 5 dollars per month, both really good deals.
The other question is what equipment do I need to use focusmate? And all you need is a computer with a camera and a microphone and I guess an Internet connection, so they strongly recommend using chrome.
The next question is, what if I don't have a camera? And if you don't have a camera you can't use focusmate, so a camera is necessary to use focusmate because you're basically looking at your partner as you start the session, you tell them what you're going to work on and then you dive in, I know it sounds kind of weird, as I describe it here, but it's amazing, I guarantee, if you try it, listen, if you've never tried it, try it and email me. I would love to hear what you say about her, love to hear your feedback on it ok?
Another question is, what's it like working with a stranger? So that's a question people have asked me a ton when I've recommended it, and their feedback is most users say their partner didn't feel like a stranger once the session got started. Also, keep in mind, you aren't hanging out or collaborating with your partner, you say hello at the beginning, declare your tasks and you say goodbye at the end, it's very simple.
Next question, do I need to keep the video on the whole time? Yes, so you do have to keep your video on working with video on is mandatory.
Do I need to keep the audio on the whole time? Though not required, we encourage you to try keeping your mic on during the appointment, we know it sounds weird, but trust us, hearing your partner working will boost your productivity and make you more accountable. However, if you are watching a video, listening to music or making a phone call, etc., please mute yourself, it's interesting.
I think I've done a lot of sessions and I think I've always, I think the person, I think we both muted every single time we've muted each other because I always listen to, like, music while I'm working. And I think that's pretty consistent, maybe once or twice we didn't.
Anyway, how long is a coworking session? So a focusmate coworking session is 50 minutes long, this allows you to take a 10-minute break if you want to do multiple sessions in a row. And that's always worked out really well that, a cadence of 50 minutes feels about right.
Next question, what if I don't get a partner? So you, you know, you find your partner on the focusmate website, what if you don't get a partner? They say over 99 percent of bookings gets matched with a partner, on the rare occasion that you do not receive 1, you can book a session at the next timeslot 15 minutes later. I've never had any issues getting a partner and seems like most people that I've recommended have always had no issues at all, I mean, the site is very widely used at this point.
How is accountability enforced? So they answer that by saying accountability is enforced by focusmate, and its community members, if you're late or don't show focusmate can detect it and your attendance score will be reduced and your account can also be frozen. If your partner goofs off during the sessions, you can report it using the reporting button on the appointment card in your dashboard, no goofing off. I will say I've done a ton of sessions and I've never had any like Riff-Raff in there, so I'm sure it happens, but I've never experienced that.
It says, can I chat with my coworking partner? It says, no, talking with your partner is only allowed at the beginning and the end of your session at the beginning you're encouraged to say hello to your partner and share what you plan to work on. At the end you should check-in and ask your partner how the session went, if you'd like to talk to your partner more, you can suggest or offer it at the end of your session, please bear in mind no selling or business by law. Yeah, so no chatting.
What can you work on? What kind of work can I do on focusmate? They say as long as you stay on camera you can use focusmate for most kinds of work, computer work, cleaning, cooking, art, music, writing, reading, even at home exercise, that would be a little distracting if I got on there and somebody was exercising. The main thing is to set up your camera so that your partner can see you while you work and then, yeah.
Can I listen to music? Is the last question, yes, however, if you plan to listen to music or watch videos, make sure to mute your microphone, not sure if I already answered that one.
Anyway, focusmate, focusmate is amazing, and I'm only growing more confident in it because I have some incredible clients who have started using it like a lot recently and they just love it and their clients that are incredibly effective already and really amazing. So it's fun to see them use focusmate, to take things to the next level.
So this was just one big focusmate commercial, I didn't mean to make it that way, but it's definitely turned into that. So focusmate, is the bomb, and if you need a tool to increase your focus and concentration, it's definitely worth trying out one time. And, and that first time can feel a little weird since you're you've never done it before. But, you know, it's no big deal, you'll, you'll figure it out and feel a little weird that first time. But by like the second, third, fourth time, it's it's awesome.
So check out focusmate. That's it, guys, I do have an incredible offer right now on my website. If you're thinking about coaching, I am offering seven days of digital productivity coaching for free, no cost. And I mean, once you actually want to cost something after seven days, it's only 29 bucks, which is just ridiculous.
Is that the best deal ever or what? it's awesome.
So, yeah, if you're interested in making 2021 amazing and you want some accountability, you want somebody to help you when you get stuck and keep you accountable and keep you focused and all that good stuff, check it out. You can go to, you can see the details of that deal under the pricing tab on my website and my website. Matt and the little dash and East .com, probably just Google the easiest way to just Google Matt and productivity or Matt East and productivity, and I should pop right up or productivity coach Matt East or whatever.
That's it guys, this is going to be my last recording before the end of the year. So I hope you guys are doing amazing, I hope you're feeling positive about 2021, I hope you're thinking about your goals for 2021, I'm doing a lot of that right now, and I host a mastermind, and where everybody's in there talking and thinking about their goals and that's been fun, but yeah.
Let's make 2021 amazing, let's come out of 2020 which has been a weird year for everyone, and let's make 2021 incredible. I can't wait and I'm feeling optimistic and I'm ready to make it a great year.
So that's it guys, try focusmate. If you try it and you like it or you don't like it, I would love to hear about your feedback, either way, so let me know what you think.
That's it bye.
